Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

Following the international break, Middlesbrough will be keen to address their last match where they lost 3-0 away at fellow promotion hopefuls Hull City when they take on an out-of-sorts QPR outfit tonight at the Riverside Stadium.

Middlesbrough had previously won their last three matches on the trot in the Championship with wins over Wolves (3-1 away) and back-to-back home wins against struggling Charlton Athletic and Rotherham United, while Boro’s overall home record stands at an impressive  6-1-1  15/2  which includes four clean sheets on the trot in recent weeks on home turf.

Boro have actually kept a total of six clean sheets to date so far at home this season, and with the likes of Fabbrini, Nugent, Stuani and Kike in their attacking personnel, the hosts look likely to take the points tonight.

Onto visitors QPR, and the Hoops have not enjoyed the best of starts to the new campaign as they currently occupy a very disappointing 13th place in the Championship. This poor start to the season resulted in the sacking of manager Chris Ramsey and the return of former boss Neil Warnock to the club.

It remains to be seen whether Warnock can re-ignite Rangers’ form to the extent of a dramatic climb up the table, and I daresay his temporary stint at Loftus Road won’t extend into a longer tenure.

QPR have won just twice in their last eleven Championship matches which were both wins recorded at Loftus Road over strugglers Bolton Wanderers and MK Dons, while away from home QPR have lost their last four on the trot amidst an overall away record of  2-1-5  6/13.

So, I will back Middlesbrough to take all three points here tonight in perhaps a 1-0 win for the hosts.
