NORWICH v BOURNEMOUTH – Pick: 1 AH-0.25 – 30 August 2014

Canaries flying at the moment

Championship Tips

Football – England – Championship

Saturday 30th August 2014 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Norwich City registered a massive win away at east anglian rivals Ipswich Town at Portman Road last weekend with a 1-0 win which gave them early bragging rights in this new season.

A goal from striker Lewis Grabban secured three very valuable points for The Canaries and with a midweek second round win in the Capital One Cup against League Two side Crawley Town 3-1 to go into the third round draw, Norwich have good momentum behind them going into this afternoon’s clash against The Cherries.

Striker Grabban (who hit 22 goals for Bournemouth last season) will face his former team mates today following his summer move from Dean Court, and this could be a case of a player biting the hand that used to feed him here today – Grabban has scored 4 goals so far this season and looks a good potential anytime goalscorer in this match.

The Canaries have won their last four matches on the trot with wins over Watford 3-0, Blackburn Rovers 3-1, Ipswich Town 1-0 and the cup win over Crawley Town.

Bournemouth travel to east anglia looking to avoid a third successive defeat in the Championship despite their midweek win over Northampton Town 3-0 in the second round of the League Cup on Tuesday night.

Defeats to Nottingham Forest 1-2 at home and last Saturday’s 2-3 defeat at Ewood Park against Blackburn Rovers has halted Bournemouth’s good early season start, and Eddie Howe’s boys face an in-form Norwich side at Carrow Road this afternoon in another tough encounter.

New signing Callum Wilson has been in form recently with 3 goals after his move from League One side Coventry City, while former Charlton Athletic’s Yann Kermorgant is always a threat either with assists or a goal.

If Norwich can keep Wilson quiet they’ll go a long way to winning this match – and I’ll back The Canaries to secure their third home win of the season here today, but the Wilson factor leads me to recommend giving the quarter ball here. Norwich could win this 2-1.
