Norwich can bounce back against lacklustre Brentford

Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

An alarming run of five league defeats in the Championship has resulted in Norwich City falling down the league table to 8th place ahead of their clash on Saturday afternoon against Brentford at Carrow Road with the hosts desperate to break this poor sequence.

Recent defeats to Preston North End, Brighton, Leeds United, QPR and Derby County has seen The Canaries drop out of the play-off pack and manager Alex Neil has been left scratching his head at the sudden decline of his side’s results in the English second tier.

However, Norwich still possess a reasonable home record of  5-1-2  14/9 which includes wins over bottom half teams such as Cardiff City, Wigan Athletic and Rotherham United and despite their recent downturn in form, Norwich will be confident that they can bounce back on Saturday afternoon.

Visitors Brentford have also experienced a sudden dramatic dip in form too as they now sit in 16th place in the Championship following four defeats from their last five matches, and have now managed just one win from their last eight matches.

Three recent defeats on the trot to Fulham, Blackburn Rovers and Birmingham City is not great preparation for a trip to Carrow Road, and together with a distinctly average away record of  2-2-5  10/13, this could be a difficult assignment for The Bees on Saturday afternoon.

Brentford are  2-1-2  6/6 away from home at top half opposition in the Championship so far this season, but their recent decline in form makes Norwich the slight favourites here but I’ll back The Canaries by giving the quarter-ball here.
