Norwich City secured a third Championship win on the trot last weekend when they overcame Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in a 2-1 win which has lifted The Canaries up into second place just two points behind surprise league leaders Huddersfield Town.
Previous home wins over Cardiff City and Wigan Athletic should set them up nicely for another great chance of capturing all three points against Championship new-boys Burton Albion as the visitors also sit in the lower reaches of the division.
Norwich’s home record so far this season stands a solid looking 3-1-0 6/3 and with forwards Jerome and Naismith up front along with goalscoring midfielders Murphy and Howson in support, Norwich should fancy their chances of perhaps moving top of the league by the end of the afternoon.
Visitors Burton Albion went down to a 1-0 defeat at home to Brighton last weekend and they face another difficult task at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon as they look to keep Norwich City quiet in their own backyard.
It’s been a meteoric rise for The Brewers as they are now playing English second flight football, although their first two matches of the new campaign ended in defeats to Nottingham Forest and Bristol City. Since then, however, Burton have held their own with wins over Sheffield Wednesday and east midlands rivals Derby County – but both of these successes came at their Pirelli Stadium.
Burton are still without an away win this season, but they have managed to take points off Blackburn Rovers, Wolves and Fulham but I do feel Norwich represent a very different challenge here this afternoon.
