QPR to see off beleaguered Blackburn at Loftus Road

QPR v BLACKBURN ROVERS

Football – England – Championship Betting Tips

QPR bounced back well from back-to-back defeats in the Championship last time out when they secured all three points in an important 1-0 win away at Wigan Athletic just before the international break.

QPR had previously suffered defeats to Barnsley (away) and Preston North End (at home) which had threatened an early season set-back for Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink’s men, but they did the job at the DW Stadium, and they have home advantage at Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon.

QPR are one of the sides I have ear-marked for at least a top six finish, if not automatic promotion from the Championship under promising manager Hasselbaink who had previously guided Burton Albion to League One following promotion from League Two, and The Brewers were top of League One just before his departure to QPR.

Visitors Blackburn Rovers can only dream of what they once achieved in their current state as the Premier League title winning season now seems a far and distant memory; Rovers now sit bottom of the Championship after the first five matches of the season, losing four of these to date.

Defeats to Norwich City, Wigan Athletic, Cardiff City and Fulham have shown that Blackburn are only now a shadow of their former glorious side that possessed the likes of strikers Shearer and Sutton, and they face a tough task in the nation’s capital on Saturday afternoon.

Just two league wins from their last 15 Championship matches away from home tells its own story and if former Burnley and Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle doesn’t start breathing much-needed life back into this side soon, he could be joining the long list of predecessors that have failed at Ewood Park.
