WOLVES v BOLTON – Pick: 1 – 20 September 2014

Wolves to see off Trotters to preserve 100% record

Championship Tips

Football – England – Championship

Saturday 20th September 2014 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Wolves secured two valuable points away from home recently with draws away at Blackpool 0-0 and fifth placed Charlton Athletic 1-1 which has kept the midlands club among the early play-off places.

They now have a great chance of adding further to their points tally when they host struggling Bolton Wanderers at Molineux on Saturday afternoon where Wolves have racked up a 100% home record so far.

Impressive wins over Premiership-relegated Norwich City and Cardiff City (both by 1-0 margins) along with a 3-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers has been a great start for manager Kenny Kackett, and Wolves may be starting to glance nervously over their shoulders with possible suitors from Premiership clubs as Jackett’s CV is improving all the time.

Bakary Sako looks to be Wolves’ most likely anytime goalscorer along with forwards Clarke and Dicko, and Wolves have lost just once in their last seventeen matches at Molineux in all competitions.

Visitors Bolton Wanderers registered their first win of the new Championship season on Tuesday night when they beat Rotherham United 3-2 at The Reebok Stadium but one win doesn’t make a season and Dougie Freedman’s side remain in the bottom four of the division despite the welcome three points.

That win over Rotherham ended a run of seven Championship matches without a win for The Trotters but winning on home turf is one thing but a trip away to a confident high-flying Wolves may prove to be a much harder test.

Bolton’s away form has been poor so far this term and their record stands at  0-0-3  1/6 with defeats at Watford 0-3, Brighton 1-2 and Leeds United 0-1.

Wolves’ form at Molineux has been solid for some time now while Bolton need to prove they can start winning away from home – this adds up to a home win here I feel with Wolves taking this perhaps 2-1.
