It’s been an amazing feat for a club such as Dnipro from Ukraine to progress to the final of the Europa League cup and they have nothing to lose despite being priced as rank outsiders to lift the trophy.
Dnipro qualified via beating the likes of Ajax in the last 16, while accounting for Club Brugge in the quarter-finals before beating Napoli 2-1 on aggregate to take them to the final stage of the Europa League Cup.
Despite facing tough opposition from Sevilla tonight they have the weaponry up front to cause problems of their own with forwards Kalinic and Seleznyov who have netted a total of 20 goals between them in the Ukrainian domestic Premier League. Indeed, Dnipro currently sit third in the domestic division with one game remaining of the season after this final, and they need to win that one in order to go into the qualifying stages of the Champions League, should they lose tonight.
Sevilla will be aiming to make it two Europa League Final wins on the trot this year following last season’s victory over Benfica on penalties, although I’m sure they’ll be keen to get the job done within the first ninety minutes!
Sevilla secured their route through to the final with a high-scoring 5-2 aggregate win over fellow Spanish outfit Villarreal in the last 16, a tense 4-3 win over Russian outfit Zenit, but then registered a comfortable 5-0 aggregate semi-final win over the Italian club Fiorentina, winning both legs 3-0 and 2-0 respectively.
On the domestic front, Sevilla will be disappointed not to have made the Champions League qualifying berth as they were edged out by fourth placed Valencia, but the new ruling of the Europa League final has been adjusted so the winners of this final will qualify for the Champions League anyway.

Either way, both of these sides will be featuring in european football again next season, but the lucrative prize of Champions League football has been added to the occasion. With this in mind, I feel that Sevilla’s experience at this level along with having won the trophy last season will give them the edge here.
