Independiente registered a fourth consecutive win in the Primera Division last time out when they beat Colon 1-0 away from home which followed three earlier wins in the Argentinian top flight.
Independiente had put together earlier wins over Olimpo 3-1, Temperley 1-0 and Atletico Rafaela 2-0 which has lifted the hosts up into seventh place and a Copa Libertadores play-off spot ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures.

Visitors Defensa have won their last two matches on the trot going into tonight’s clash at Independiente with wins over bottom club Nueva Chicago and Lanus but neither of these two sides possess a home record of any note.
Defensa y Justicia have won just once from their last nine matches on the road which was the recent victory at Lanus, but with an overall away record of 2-4-4 7/10 behind them, they may well struggle tonight against an Independiente side who have been gathering momentum.
In short, Independiente should have too much for their visitors tonight and I wouldn’t be surprised if they take all three points here in what could be a 1-0 win for the hosts.
