NEWCASTLE v QPR – Pick: 1 – 22 November 2014

Magpies momentum too much for R's

Premier League Tips

Football – England – Premier League

Saturday 22nd November 2014 – Kickoff: 1500hrs

Under-fire Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew must have been disappointed that the international break has disrupted his side’s amazing turnaround in form, but they host second from bottom club Queens Park Rangers at St James’ Park this afternoon as they bid to make it five Premier League wins on the trot.

Newcastle are unbeaten in their last five, while they’ve won their last four on the bounce with victories over Leicester City, Tottenham, Liverpool and West Brom as The Magpies have eased away from the bottom three and now sit in the relative comfort of 8th place just two points adrift of Swansea City who currently occupy the last remaining european spot.

Newcastle have dealt with bottom half opposition in effective fashion on home turf so far with wins over Leicester City and Liverpool (!) while drawing with Hull City and Crystal Palace and with forwards Papiss Cisse and Ayoze Perez starting to fire, I daresay the hosts will settle for nothing less than a win here today.

Visitors QPR have won just once in their last eight Premiership matches and that was a 2-0 home win over struggling Aston Villa at Loftus Road, but their recent form has been generally poor with five defeats during this spell although their point at home against a decidedly off-colour Manchester City will have given Harry Redknapp’s boys a boost going into the international break.

On the road, QPR have quite simply been very poor as they’ve lost all five of their away matches so far with an overall record of  0-0-5  2/14. To make matters worse, The R’s have failed to score on three occasions already on their travels and they now face a resurgent Newcastle outfit this afternoon.

A few weeks ago, QPR may have fancied their chances of getting something out of The Magpies but the hosts have turned things around in amazing fashion and with momentum on their side along with increased confidence, I have to back the home side here who could take this perhaps 2-0.

Pick: Newcastle United straight win @ 1.80 Bet Victor
