This was a massive 4195/1 acca at Ladbrokes, a hugely ambitious 12-fold. Things got off to a cracker with the first six sides in the wager, Carlise United, Livingston, Southend United, Scunthorpe United, Celtic and Newcastle all won their respective matches pretty much at a canter.
But in a massive 12-fold wager you know that you are going to face some drama at some point. One of the selections, Rochdale were 2-1 down after an hour, while Blackburn had fought back twice to be holding Reading to a 2-2 draw, the Royals having been backed in the acca. Then there was a seemingly frustrating afternoon on the cards for Plymouth against Accrington Stanley, as the Pilgrims couldn’t find a way to score.
