Over to the Scottish Championship now, and Dundee United will be looking to keep their impressive home record intact when they play host to Dunfermline at Tannadice Park, and a win this evening could lift them up into third spot.
United will be depending upon third placed Morton to slip up at home to second from bottom club St Mirren, but with an overall home record of 9-5-1 25/13 to their name, Dundee United will be fairly confident of doing well tonight.
Dundee United also hold a good record at home against bottom half opposition with stats of 5-2-0 14/7 and they’ve scored 2 goals or more in five of their last six match-ups against such opposition. Watch out for forward Murray (10 goals) for the hosts.
Visitors Dunfermline sit in 6th place and nine points adrift of their hosts, Dundee United, ahead of this Tuesday night fixture and being eight points clear of second from bottom St Mirren who occupy the relegation play-off spot, there’s seemingly not much to play for as they make their way to Dundee tonight.
That said, Dunfermline are unbeaten in their last three in the Championship having registered wins over Morton and Raith Rovers along with taking a point at home against Championship leaders Hibernian at their East End Park.
An away record of 4-5-6 15/17 though could be their undoing here this evening, along with a below-par record of 1-2-4 8/12 at top half opposition this season, so I’m leaning towards a home win here.
