Celtic Preview – Can Hoops repeat?
It’ll be a case of same again for Celtic as they prepare for their opening game of this new Scottish Premiership season on Sunday afternoon when they entertain Aberdeen at Celtic Park as the hosts look to defend last season’s Premiership title.
After making a slow and sluggish start to last season’s campaign which saw The Hoops lose their three matches in a short space of time, Celtic then gathered themselves and put together a decisive and impressive 32-match unbeaten run which ultimately wrestled control over Rangers at the top of the division and saw them claim the title.
Aberdeen Preview – Can Dons improve?
It was a disappointing season for Sunday’s visitors, Aberdeen, who finished in 9th place at the end of the regular season which meant dropping into the Relegation Round group in the second phase of the season where they then finished a precarious third from bottom in the division.
Aberdeen’s cause wasn’t helped by the fact that they registered just one win from their final seven games of the season which came in the form of a 1-0 home win over relegated Dundee but defeats to Ross County, Livingston and St Johnstone underlined The Dons’ vulnerability.
