Online-Betting Rating:

This is our Coral betting review, pulling into focus one of the most famous names of bookmaking in the UK.

You think of the major UK bookmakers and you immediately think of Coral.

For a long, long time they have been at the front of British bookmaking, really offering a huge competition to the likes of the other major players Ladbrokes and William Hill.

Like those other operators, Coral have secured a high street presence and have translated all of their experience over to online betting.

They can trace their origins back to the 1920s so they have a rich history in the industry.

Coral are one of the most visible bookmakers around, offering a stylish front but being able to deliver high-quality products underneath all of that.

In 2016 they merged with Ladbrokes to become the UK’s biggest history street bookmaker.

In 2017 Ladbrokes Coral was in turn bought by GVC which owns other bookmaker brands like Bwin and Sportingbet.

In this Coral review, we take a look at the different aspects of their service.

We will be breaking down some of their popular markets, taking a look at their in-play betting services, as well as taking in a Coral app review.

We will shine a big spotlight on the Coral betting opportunities within the sportsbooks, along with Coral betting offers and features.

Betting markets and odds quality 9/10

Betting markets

So there is a strong, familiar brand in place with Coral UK which helps them.

Another of the big reasons why Coral are so popular is, of course, their sportsbook and market odds.

You would naturally assume that a bookmaker of Coral’s standing would have an impressive sportsbook. They do.

You have a vast array of Coral betting options in there.

It is a strong sportsbook so if you like your big popular markets like horse racing and football and enjoy other markets like Ice Hockey and Motorsports, you’ll be well covered.

A nice touch that Coral do have in their sportsbook is that there is an extra menu dedicated to Non-Sports betting, where you can find everything like Lotto, Political and TV Specials in there.

Coral online running betting runs through the current events on their homepage and you can sort the sports and events through tabs.

Navigation is largely done by a straight forward, no-nonsense left-hand menu and there are

There are quick links to get your to the current events, so if a Tennis Tournament is going on, you will find a quick link so you don’t have to go searching around the sportsbook.

Margin prices are very solid all the way, as we have already touched on and the presentation of markets odds is clear.

You can get the main prices and then expand a market to see further options.

If you click on sport, say American Football, you will see tabs which can quickly take you to alternative betting line Money Lines, Total Points, Coupons and Competitions.

The main sportsbook page at Coral UK has a lot going on. There is the live in-play and live stream section, featured events, racecards.

But it does give it all a big, dynamic feel and so things don’t feel cluttered at all.

So in looking around for this Coral betting review, the sportsbook is in-depth and there is a lot crammed in there.

In the next part of this Coral bookmaker review, we will take a deeper look at some of their big markets.

Coral Football Review

Coral Football betting, along with horse racing betting are big staples of Coral’s services. Coral brings a lot of extensive coverage to the table for football.

Naturally, bettors in the UK are going to lean towards the popular events like the Premier League, Championship, FA Cup and Champions League action. That’s all superbly covered.

But what Coral also do very well, is extend equally good coverage to smaller tournaments and leagues.

There are a lot of international competition markets in the football betting section of Coral, to an impressive degree.

The next thing that we took a look at was the variety of betting markets within a single match in Coral football betting. Punters like variety and it is good to explore options.

For this Coral review, we looked at a German Bundesliga match and the number of markets in the fixture was staggering.

The match was being played the same day as the review and there were 201 bet options available besides the match outright.

Also, it is worth mentioning that through the use of icons, Coral display clearly which matches can be watched live with them, are available for #Your Call (which we’ll examine in detail later in this review) and Smart Boosts.

Smart Boosts and Supermarket boosts are pre-set enhanced odds options that the Coral online betting has priced up.

So the bet variety at Coral we found to be superb. That is something that will help us score Coral highly in the bookmaker ranking.

The Coral sports betting football section is just brilliant. You can filter markets through from the in-play action, by competition, accumulators, outrights and special.

The specials, in which things like player transfers and manager betting can be found, is another great aspect of Coral football betting.

Coral Racing Preview

Equally as strong as the football betting section at Coral is their horse racing section.

They hit things out of the park here, which is no surprise really when you think about Coral’s massive standing in the industry.

Domestic and International racing is covered equally as well as each other. The racing section in Coral betting is one that can be accessed through the top horizontal menu on the page.

Landing on the main racing page, there is an option to build a racecard.

What this is, is the ability to select up to 10 races from any UK, IRE or International meetings so that you can have your card to browse through and make selections from.

There are a lot of racecards on display every day and they clearly mark which races have extra places available. The racecard does have details within them and this is where it gets really good with Coral racing.

Information is integrated from the Racing Post into the racecard and that includes the verdict on a race. Other things like form, jockey and trainer etc are all on the cards as to be expected.

The Coral racing betting section also has a bet filter tool available. This is where you can select certain factors to find horses that you are looking for.

So, for example, you may want to see only horses that are between Evens – 7/2 and have been a Winner within the last 3.

You can pick the meeting that you want to apply the filter too and then the tool will show results based on your criteria. The selections that you have made for the filter can be saved to be used at another time.

In Coral sports betting, there is extensive horse racing betting coverage which is available including an international tote.

There are live racing streams available at Coral as well to top it all off. It is also common to find good horse racing promotions in the section as well.

Coral Esports

There is also a very good Esports betting section on offer at Coral. They offer both in-play and future options for Esports. In looking at the Coral Esports betting section we found coverage from a good variety of games.

There was Counter-Strike action from across the globe, encompassing different leagues and tournaments from the USA to Poland.

There was also a large amount of Dota league betting markets available at the time we looked as well.

We selected a Scandiativan Counter-Strike match to look at to size up bet variety.

There were seven markets beyond the match outright for that fixture we saw, including things like the common Map winners, to the Pistol round winners and correct score options.

There were 15 markets beyond the match outright on a Dota match that we looked at at the time from North America.

There was a correct score, Map 1 Total Kills Odd/Even, Map 1 Team To Slay The Next Roshan and a whole lot more.

It was some of the most extensive bet variety in Esports that we have seen.

The number of betting markets on offer will naturally vary between game, competition and the time of the week, as things are generally a bit more active on the weekend.

All in all, however, Coral’s Esports betting section was a massive hit.

Coral Novelty Markets

Another very strong Coral sportsbook betting area is novelties. We are going to include politics in this as well as non-sports markets. In the political section, there was a decent amount of variety happening.

We expected to find plenty of UK and USA Politics markets available at Coral, but the section extended out a lot further than that. There were European politics betting options as well as some from further afield like South America.

We even discovered a Politics Specials section at Coral, offering alternative markets such as the odds on George Clooney becoming the US President before 2042.

There were TV specials and awards betting markets also within the Coral sportsbook, including things like the Nobel Peace Prize and the Sports Personality of the Year. There were Christmas Specials as well, focusing on things like weather.

TV markets were the usual staples of reality TV fare like Britain’s Got Talent, Love Island and Big Brother. So if the non-sports betting markets are something that you enjoy, Coral should deliver.

Overall the novelty markets we thought was very strong in this Coral UK review.

Coral Sportsbook Summary

So it’s all fairly well rounded out and just the sheer size of their sportsbook is fantastic with decent margins. That is a pretty concise summary of what Coral does have on offer.

The racing and football sections, in particular, are just exemplary and with an easy site to get around, and good functionality in the bet slip we can rank Coral well for their sportsbook.

They are also a bookmaker who does offer plenty of promotions as well for punters, and that is what we will look at next in this Coral review.

odds comparisons

Coral pulls a lot of punches in the industry and their traders consistently deliver very strong odds for punters.

One thing about them though is that they do run slightly higher betting margins than some of their competitors.

We looked around at some of the bigger football matches, like the Premier League, La Liga and Bundesliga action and found between a 4.5% and a 6% margin on the outrights there.

So the margins there are pretty average and the standard as to what you would expect to find across the board at a bookmaker nowadays.

Coral sign up bonus, free bets & current promotions 10/10

bonus offers

There is a Coral welcome bonus for punters to consider when registering. It is a Get £20 in Free bets when you bet £5 offer.

Note that there are deposit restrictions on this offer including Paypal, as well as some bet types.

The basic upshot of the Coral new customers offer is that you place a minimum first bet of £5 at minimum odds of 1/2 and in return a £20 free bet will be credited back.

*KEY T&C:** 18+ New UK & ROI Customers only. Min deposit £5. Min first £5 bet at minimum odds 1/2 to qualify for 1x 20 free bet. Certain deposit methods and bet types excl. Free bet valid for 7 days, stake not returned. Restrictions + T&Cs apply.

Other Coral Promotions

Coral are very good for their variety of promotions on offer. They have a dedicated promotions page which is accessible through the horizontal menu on the page.

On any of the main pages at the Coral sportsbook there are promotions pushed there. They usually just sit at the top of any market so they are front and centre.

Smart Boosts

Coral customers can get more with a Smart Boost when available. This is an opportunity to back enhanced odds bets that Coral themselves have created.

It is possible to find Smart Boosts across a range of markets within the sportsbook. Just look for the Smart Boost icon.

The Smart Boost offers are bigger enhanced odds bets with at least three selections in each.

In-play betting 8/10

live in-play betting

You get a full-on Coral in-play betting feature with them. They do push this dynamic form of betting, heavily on their home page.

You will find quick access to some of the active events right on the home page or you can just hit the “Bet In-Play’ Tab and get into it.

The entire section can be filtered by sport and you can take a look at what is coming up in the feature. One immediate feature that you will notice on the live in-play betting section at Coral is the Cash Out options.

Click on an event, be it football, tennis or whatever and you will get a little graphic display of the action above all of the active markets for that event.

It is a top, top service and while it looks as if a lot is going on, it’s down at good speed as well through quick loading and operation.

For the next part of this Coral bookmaker review, we will take a look at some of the main Coral live in-play betting sections.

In-Play Football

Coral in-play football is a good place to start because of the sheer amount of market options that can be found on a top game. Naturally, the games of higher status are going to have more markets open.

That’s perfectly normal and expected. Already in this Coral Review, we have made plenty of mentions of the extensive bet variety at the bookmaker.

There was between 20 and 30 markets on average for matches from random league matches Belarus and Turkmenistan.

A top Premier League game had over 100 markets open for its live in-play, which is a staggering amount of things.

Everything under the sun that can be thought of for football betting, from handicaps, totals and player markets.

There is an example of what is happening in the match through a graphical representation. There’s a pitch with statistics and the key moments of the game shown, like goals and cards.

It’s easy to see the price fluctuations when they happen and which markets have the Coral cash out function as well.

Some fixtures are streamed live as well through Coral which adds to the entire experience.

It’s all very well presented. The main in-play screen allows you to switch between the many different sports available and then just lists the active match outright markets.

It’s clear, concise and just all-round excellent.

In-Play Esports

Coral betting does cover in-play Esports. For Esports football for example, you would find that under the main football tab and not under ESports.

We looked around at the Esports betting at Coral to see what bet variety was like.

Pretty much it all boils down to whatever is on offer pre-match you will likely find in-play on the Esports.

On things like Counter Strike and Dota 2 fixtures for example, you are going to be looking at in-play Map betting and totals.

All of the major Esports games like Counter Strike, League of Legends, Dota 2 etc were active in-play. It is easy on the site to see the upcoming in-play Esports games that are happening.

We will say that there are a lot fewer markets and bet variety on things like Football, Ebasketball opposed to games like Dota 2.

Extras & features 9/10

Extras & features

Coral are excellent for extra features. In this next section of the Coral review, we are going to look at some of their features.

We are focusing on things that add an extra level of enhancement to betting.

Cash Out

In our experience, there were a lot of cash out options at Coral throughout the sportsbook.

It is such a valuable tool for punters to have at their disposal.

Dip into their live in-play section and you will see a wealth of cash out options applied to markets within a football match for example.

Just click the orange Cash Out tab on a market and you will see the options to withdraw your bet early.

Both live in-play bets placed and pre-match bets can be cashed out. Be careful if you are pulling out some bets early because it could affect any promotions that bet may be in.

Coral does offer partial cash out options as well, meaning that you can pull a portion of your active bet, while leaving the rest riding until the event closes. Cash-out is now a common feature of online betting.

The #YOUR CALL option at Coral is available across all sports. This is a feature where you can send a Tweet to @Coral with #YourCall and request the bet that you want.

It is also available both pre-match and in-play. It basically allows you to request a price on several betting markets. Something that you create. If Coral price up the bet they will send back a link to be able to strike the bet.

It is also possible to look through #YourCall bets which have already been priced up, right within the sportsbook.

Build Your Bet

This is an alternative to requesting a bet at Coral. This is where a punter can build one. The Build Your Bet feature allows a punter to create a same-game multi.

So if this was in a Premier League match, for example, you would find options such as the Match Outright, Over 4.5 cards and Under 2.5 goals. There are pre-set markets to pick from.

Clicking around on options within the bet builder will automatically update the odds on the projected bet. The Build Your bet tool at Coral is available on over 1000 football leagues and competitions.

It’s easy to access a Build Your Bet tool. You can just visit the match page of the game that you are looking at. There will be a menu link there for the tool, which is only available on football.

Coral Live Streaming

As well as the cash-out feature and high quality live in-play betting you have Coral Live Stream which is now available.

You can get to the streams through the links on the market of a particular event or just hit the Live Stream tab at the top of the menu.

As long as you are a funded account holder you can log in and tune in with Coral Live Streaming.

They show top European domestic soccer from the likes of the Spanish La Liga and Italy’s Serie A, you can watch top ATP and WTA tennis events and get into rugby, darts, snooker and much more with a live streak.

A 1 bet on a racehorse or greyhound will get you access to a live stream of that race.

You can watch a live stream by popping out the video and enjoy live in-play betting alongside it.

Coral Virtual Betting

There is virtual betting available at Coral. There is a good choice of sports available. It is all accessible through the top horizontal menu.

Available within the virtual sports betting at Coral are horse racing, greyhounds, football, tennis, motorsports, speedway, cycling and darts. That’s a good chunk of variety on offer.

Things are fairly straight forward with virtual betting. On the horse racing, there is the basic winner and each-way options to back. Things do get a little more expansive in virtual football.

In the virtual football betting options for a single match, we saw Correct Score, Goals Total, Under/Over 2.5 goals and Double Chance markets.

Virtual tennis matches had the correct score and the total number of points available.

A new event comes around every three minutes. The graphics presented in the Coral virtual sports are very good, with good sound effects (which can be taken off).

Coral Statistics/Scores/Results

There is a lot to enjoy at Coral from live scores, results and a big statistics section. One great way to keep abreast of sports and betting news is to visit the Coral News and Blogs and you get other features on the site like Virtual betting too.

There is a Coral Radio you can listen to too and they like to roll out great enhanced odds as well.

Coral payment options - deposit and withdrawal methods 8/10

Coral payment options

One great feature is the Coral Connect, a card which is free to get and it connects your accounts from online, mobile and the high street as well.

You can bet online with the card and collect your winnings in one of their many shops for instant cash so you don’t have to wait for a bank withdrawal.

These are cashless transactions on the high street and you just have the one balance for wherever you bet.

For deposits on an account following a Coral sign in, there is a very good variety from debit cards to e-wallets and bank options.

The full list of payment methods which are available at Coral can be found below. Credit cards can not be used to make payments to Coral.

Coral Withdrawal

To make a withdrawal from Coral log in and select the Withdrawal option. Once you have completed the steps, the operator will send an email with a confirmation number.

How long do Coral withdrawals take? Coral’s internal review team will check over any withdrawal requests first before releasing them to your financial institution.

Withdrawals do operate on a closed-loop system, which means that the money has to go back to the source that funded it.

To make a withdrawal

Do a Coral sign in.
Click on your name right at the top of the page.
Select My Account.
In the navigation menu, click Withdraw and enter the amount.
Click the Withdraw button.

There are no charges from the operator of any processing fees for a Coral withdrawal. Before a payment has been approved/processed, it can be cancelled, with the money going back into your Coral account.

The amount of time that it will take to complete a Coral withdrawal transaction will depend on the method that you have selected.

User-friendliness of website & mobile app / mobile version 8/10

User-friendliness of website & mobile app

The Coral website is busy. You will find less busy ones around, but still, with that said, the site is easy to get around and control what you are looking at.

So that is a huge plus. The background on the website is white which helps readability.

A very good touch about the Coral set up is that features like cash out, bet builders and live streams are marked up with icons. So they are easy to spot.

There are great quick links on the menu and you can even build your own shortcut menus to your favourite markets as well.

That’s a nice little touch and the sportsbook is easy to get around.

Odds are well presented and aren’t difficult to see at all, so you can make quick selections. It is user friendly despite the busy feel. The bet slip is very nice and easy to customise.

Coral Mobile App 8/10

Coral mobile

There is a Coral app for both iOS and Android platforms. There is always the alternative of just using the Coral mobile site if you don’t want to download an app of course.

The iOS version can be downloaded from the App Store. Because the Android version is not available on Google Play because of restrictions, the easiest way to get the app is to visit the Coral mobile site.

Visiting the Coral mobile site on your device will be presented with an Android logo. Clicking on that will send a link request to Coral and then the download link will be sent straight back.

The full extent of the Coral experience from online can be enjoyed on the Coral mobile app as well. That includes the full coverage from their sportsbook and their features too.

Live streaming of sports can be done on the mobile device, along with live betting. Those two often go hand in hand and the in-play betting is really smooth on the app.

The bet builder is accessible through the app and the cash-out tool was easy to use.

Overall in our experience for the Coral app review was quick and responsive and we weren’t waiting around any significant amount of time for things to load.

The Coral welcome bonus can be collected on a registration done through the Coral app.

It is a very robust app and navigation is just excellent there. Full mobile banking can be done through the Coral app too.

Coral Customer Service & Support, Security & Reliability 7/10

Coral Customer Service

There is a help section accessible from all pages at Coral to get you answers to the most frequently asked questions.

You will probably find everything you need in this extensive database of answers.

Even if you go to their Contact Us link you will answer questions in a drop-down menu to get customized answers, so you will mostly be dealing with online resolutions which are accessible 24/7 of course.

If you do need some support you can contact Coral through their live in-play chat on the screen or simply pick up the phone and call the Coral phone number which is 0800 44 00 11 or via their customer support email address [email protected]

Our Coral review rating: 8 / 10

Coral review

Coral are one of the top operators in the world and in our experience, it is easy to see why.

The extensiveness of their sportsbook, odds value and some wonderful features all add up to a big product.

The Coral betting website really presents an extremely good service in our opinion.

They operate very well on mobile apps as well, which is huge for things like live streaming and in-play betting.

One of their big strong points is the quality of their in-play betting across platforms.

With their rich history in the world of betting, all of that experience translates over to their service which boasts a wide range of markets and value.

To close out this Coral review we will finish on a high note of giving them a good solid ranking.
