LADBROKES REVIEW 2020 - SPORTS BETTING REVIEW

OUR OPINIONS ABOUT LADBROKES

  • Fantastic horse racing coverage and services.
  • Great value prices.
  • Plenty of good promotions to enjoy.

Online-Betting Rating:

Ladbrokes is one of the familiar high street names from British betting history. They are one of the big famous names and they have also long been great supporters of British sport through their sponsorships.

A Ladbrokes login gives punters access to a wide range of features and a quality sportsbook that has been delivered through experience.

Ladbrokes sports betting comes with a strong brand name behind them.

The history of Ladbrokes UK stretches all the way back to the 18th Century, that’s how long that they have been going.

That’s a rich history for them and their founder Harry Ogden is recognised as the UK’s first professional bookmaker.

The actual Ladbrokes brand was formed in 1902 and comes from racing stables Ladbroke Hall in Worcestershire.

Fast forward and the Ladbrokes online participation went live in 2000. In 2016 Ladbrokes acquired the Gala Coral Group.

Then in 2018 GVC Plc acquired Ladbrokes Coral.

We are now coming right into the present with a current Ladbrokes Review. In it, we will explore the sportsbook and features that are on offer.

We will also size up the Ladbrokes app as well as the Ladbrokes free bet offer that they have available as a welcome bonus.

Betting markets and odds quality 9/10

Betting markets

A Ladbrokes bet is generally strong in odds because they have a wealth of knowledge and expertise in trading.

So for Ladbrokes online betting, you would expect nothing less really. Their sportsbook is great and should fulfil the needs of both casual and more hardened punters alike.

The navigation around the Ladbrokes sportsbook is done through a left-hand menu on the site.

That’s pretty standard and there are other horizontal menus scattered through the site to help navigation along as well. So markets are very easy to find.

Variety is fantastic as well at Ladbrokes online.

You get great North American sports coverage along with everything from Aussie Rules to Chess, Golf, MMA and Volleyball and just about everything in between.

Of course, there are the big features of the Ladbrokes sports markets, like the Premier League football and horse racing.

Football and racing without question, are two of the most prominent sections of their website.

Ladbrokes have long been big supporters of UK racing. Racing is a big feature and a big staple of the experience at Ladbrokes with some quality coverage in their racecards.

The layout of their horse racing section in the sportsbook is well done because it is just basically as simple as it can get.

You get to enjoy the little touches like the verdict and Spotlight form when you click on a race as well as the market fluctuations. It’s nothing which is glitz and glamour at all, it is simply a good simple horse racing betting platform.

It is part of a very big sportsbook that Ladbrokes offer. You have a big sportsbook to get lost in, well, fortunately, the navigation in the sportsbook has been done so well that you won’t get lost as it’s easy to get around.

Along with horse racing, the sport that is pushed the most is football, which is understandable as well. These are the bread and butter of a bookmaker’s operations.

They have a wonderfully extensive football service available and it’s really easy to sort through the matches for the day, the following day or future matches.

You find that when you look at a match, even a match we looked at from the Australian A-League for example, it had 175 bets available.

Most of them were available for cash out as well. That is a feature which is prevalent throughout the sportsbook and ranked highly in our Ladbrokes betting review.

Also nicely displayed in a football match that you have selected is any Ladbrokes odds price boost that they are currently running for that match.

That’s to ensure that you don’t miss out. You can glance at the markets available by categories such as team goals, goalscorers and other markets.

We were impressed when we did the research for our Ladbrokes bookmakers review.

For these Ladbrokes reviews, we actually appreciated how clean and simple the overall sportsbook was.

There is big global coverage throughout a lot of the sports that are available in the Ladbrokes sportsbook.

But to break down this review of Ladbrokes we will look in-depth at some of the big markets.

Ladbrokes Football Review

There is a massive amount of Ladbrokes football betting that is available on the site.

If it is Ladbrokes Premiership or Ladbrokes Championship market that you are looking for, then you are not going to be left short.

Ladbrokes odds on football are good and what they also do extraordinarily well provide market variety.

A pre-match Premier League game is likely to deliver over 180 betting opportunities for punters. More on occasions.

Even on the action from the lower tiers and from matches across continental Europe and beyond, this is a particular area in which Ladbrokes simply excel.

The main area of the Ladbrokes football betting screen lists a lot of the common markets.

There will be the big action from the current day, the following day as well as futures, which are accessible by a time menu. Also easily accessible are In-Play, Accas and Specials right from that football page.

The layout is really sharp and there is plenty of space between markets and odds to clearly read everything.

In the Acca’s section of the football markets, it raised some great coupons for convenience, such as ‘Today’s Both Teams To Score’, ‘Today’s BTTS in Both Halves’ and ‘Today’s Correct Scores’.

Ladbrokes Racing Review

Ladbrokes have always provided a big section for horse racing. There is big international racing adding to the domestic stuff from the UK and Ireland.

So there is plenty going on and the Ladbrokes horse racing is quickly accessible through a link at the top of the sportsbook.

There is a feature called Build A Racecard which allows punters to select up to 10 races from a UK, IRE and International meeting so you can hone in on only the races that you want to see.

Another cool tool that is part of the Ladbrokes racing experience. That is the Bet Filter.

With that tool, it is possible to select things like only seeing horses in an odds range of 4/1 – 15/2, Course Winner, Distance Winner and Form. Apply the filters to see the horses that fit.

If a Ladbrokes horse race has a live stream available then it will be indicated at the top of the card.

There is good information within a Ladbrokes racecard as they will show silks, along with horse form and integrate insights as well from the Racing Post.

There are also Ladbrokes Totepool options as well, so Trifecta and Exacta options can be played on international racing alongside the Win and Place options.

It is just a parcel of a highly impressive Ladbrokes racing section. The racing there is just full of features, strong odds and variety.

Because they are pretty synonymous with horse racing, their Best Odds Guaranteed Plus is a great feature. If an SP returns a greater price than the one you have taken, then they will not only pay you out at the bigger SP but they will boost the price further up.

For example, if you took a selection at 3/1 but the SP was 7/2, you would be boosted up to 4/1. Whenever that applies to a race, it is a good thing to have with you.

Ladbrokes offer live streaming on all UK & Irish racing. Plus there is free live commentary.

Another big feature of Ladbrokes racing is Tote. They have offered some wonderful products for punters, including the tote Jackpot, totePlacepot, toteQuadpot and Scoop6.

So there is a stack of options there for tote betting with them. ToteWin/totePlace bets operate on all races with a minimum £2 for a tote win or tote place, or £2 total each way.

Ladbrokes Esports Review

Another good section of the Ladbrokes sportsbook is their Esports section. There is a great bet variety to be found in Esports at Ladbrokes.

It is not just the big leagues either there is plenty of international wagering action to be found in this area.

Games covered include Counter-Strike, Dota, League of Legends and Overwatch.

Immediately when you go to look at a particular match, there is often a brilliant number of betting opportunities to be taken.

When we looked through the section for this review, for example, we saw 36 bets available beyond the match outright on a League of Legends match.

It was common on Dota 2 matches to find at least 15 markets such as the Best of 3 Correct Score, Map 1 Total Kills Odds/Even and Map 2 Team To Score the Most Kills and so on. It is really extensive.

Novelty Markets

Another outside area of the sportsbook that is available at Ladbrokes is their novelty and special bets. One of the top sections is on the non-sports betting side of things in politics.

They go deep with the Ladbrokes politics markets and punters should be able to find a lot more than just the big UK and US political markets there.

There are other very good European markets as well such as the Next German Chancellor.

Other areas here that show up very well are TV/Movie markets and awards. Ladbrokes are excellent in this particular area.

Among the popular action includes Britain’s Got Talent, Strictly Come Dancing and of course James Bond betting.

odds comparisons

As for odds, they are right up and they deliver a healthy amount of enhanced odds deals as well to keep punters coming back for more.

You have roughly between a 5% and 6% bookmaker margin on soccer and overall across their sportsbook, it is about 4.9 which is pretty solid in comparison to others out there.

Visit Ladbrokes

Ladbrokes Exchange

Running concurrently alongside their sportsbooks, Ladbrokes also have a betting exchange. You can find the link for it right in the main top menu on their website.

What we enjoyed about the Ladbrokes Exchange when we tested them for our bookmaker review is just how clean and inviting it looks.

What Ladbrokes have managed to do is take out any intimidation that punters may have about getting into exchange betting.

It is very clean with its layout. When you land on the Exchange home page then you get to see some of the current markets, and they are largely horse racing and football-focused.

There is pretty good coverage of different sports in the Ladbrokes Exchange, perhaps not as extensive as it could be, but it will tick a lot of boxes.

There is live racing and greyhounds to look at, plus a decided live in-play section on the exchange, we felt operated quickly.

You either take a Back or Lay bet there and of course, you can set your own odds and try to create your Green Book situations.

It is a fast exchange betting platform, not many bells and whistles, but a very solid platform.

As with any betting exchange, you pay your commission on winning bets.

The base is 5% commission at Ladbrokes, however, the more you bet, the lower the rate will get because it operates on a layered commission structure.

It could come all the way down to 2% based on the volume of bets that you have made.

All in all, the Ladbrokes sportsbook is extremely good.

There is so much variety that happens throughout it, regardless of whether you are looking at the big Premier League football markets, Premiership rugby markets or darts.

There is just superb coverage everywhere along with very good odds to boot.

The sportsbook is clean and easy to navigate and then for those interested there is also the exchange side of operations to jump over too.

When you start building on the features that can be found as well across the site, something that we will get too later in this Ladbrokes review, then they are a bookmaker that gets a high rating from us.

In-play betting 8/10

live in-play betting

Ladbrokes have a wonderful in-play service available for their customers.

There is a link on the main menu to bring up all of the current events that are available for live in-play.

This also ties into another of their big features which is live streaming. If an event is available for live streaming then you will see the icon right there to access it.

There are viewing restrictions with viewing streams so read up full on it. A general rule of thumb is to watch streams you must have placed a bet in the last 24 hours or have funds in your account.

Coverage starts a few minutes before the event. Geographical location is another factor.

When we looked at their in-play services four our Ladbrokes review, we found plenty of football going on, along with tennis matches, basketball matches, volleyball matches and a golf event.

There was even Esports which were all currently through live in-play action. More sports than that are well covered through the features like rugby and cricket. It just depends on what is going on at the time of course.

The market variety in terms of betting options for a live event was great.

We looked at a football match from Mexico and there were fifteen markets open, while an obscure tennis match had 50 markets available.

Again, a lot of these were available for Cash Out option as well to keep you in control as the action was rolling along.

In the next part of this Ladbrokes review, we take an in-depth look at some of the big in-play markets.

In-Play Football

In our experience, Ladbrokes have one of the most extensive in-play football bet sections around.

The number of markets that they have available for just a single match can be huge. Naturally, the bigger the match, say a World Cup fixture or a Premier League match, that’s going to get more action.

That’s simple logistics because those are more popular games than a league fixture from Lithuania.

The Ladbrokes in-play football are accessed through a menu at the top of the main sportsbook. If you are in the football section anywhere, the coupons indicate which are in-play and you can get to it from there.

As mentioned there are a tremendous amount of options around for live in-play betting and expect to find at least 50 markets for a live game.

The nice thing about the navigating in the Ladbrokes in-play section is that there is a menu option to change what is only displayed.

So naturally, when you land at the in-play football section, it presents match outrights.

But that can be changed to see the Both Teams To Score quotes for all of the games, or the Under/Under 1.5 markets. So that is a convenient tool.

Any stream that has a live stream available is marked up well. Going into a single match a live stream can be watched right there, integrated to the top of the page.

If there isn’t there will be a scoreboard and match info like statistics to get a flow of the game going.

Another great touch about the in-play markets is that the bulk of them have cash out available. All are marked up clearly.

Also to be found within a Ladbreoks live in-play section are #GETAPRICE markets. With strong odds through and fantastic value, the Ladbrokes in-play section is very good.

In-Play ESports

Excellent Ladbrokes in-play opportunities are available for ESports as well at the bookmaker.

As mentioned in the sportsbook above, their overall coverage of the gaming is excellent. There is no exception in the in-play betting markets either.

Action from the likes of Counter-Strike and Dota 2 can be found on there.

Depending on the level of the match and what league it is from, will determine how many markets are available.

We found international action from CSGO having only a couple of markets beyond the outright.

There were eleven on a Master League encounter, including the likes of Best of 5 Correct Score, Map 2 1st Pistol Round Winner and Handicaps.

A Dota 2 fixture had over 30 live markets going for it. So there is some good coverage to be found with live betting on Esports.

Extras & features 9/10

Extras & features

There are extra features around the Ladbrokes website and mobile services that expand what they have to offer. Here we take a look at some of those features.

The Grid

The Ladbrokes grid is an incentive-based club.

Punters who join the club can unlock benefits, offers and claim perks which are exclusive to Grid members like horse racing money back specials.

What the grid also does is tie in any betting done at a shop to online, which is done with their bet tracker.

Other things available in Ladbrokes the grid are things like live streaming, race stats and this is accessible through a Ladbrokes app on iOS or Android.

Cash Out

Ladbrokes also do run a cash out feature which means that you can get a return on your bet before a match even finishes. This is tremendous to try and consolidate your bets or lower your risk.

The Ladbrokes cash out feature covers plenty of sports like football, cricket and snooker and this also applies to live markets and accumulators as well.

You can just browse around the sportsbook and the in-play markets and see which of the markets have cash out available.

There is partial cash out available through the site too.

Next at Ladbrokes how to cash out? You can visit the My Bets section of the cashier to do that.

That will display open bets and if any of them are cash out eligible then they will be marked there along with the cash out offer value.

Ladbrokes Cash out is available both on the main website and on mobile.

#GETAPRICE

Ladbrokes have a #GETAPRICE feature available. This is where punters can put their own creativity to the test by creating a bet.

These are combo bets from a set of markets such as Master Result, Tackles, Shots On Goal, Total Match Corner and Total Match Booking Points.

A punter Tweets @Ladbrokes with the requested bet and they will price it up. Along with football, the #GETAPRICE feature is available for cricket, NFL, Darts and Snooker.

#GETAPRICE bets that have already been priced up can be found alongside the regular markets in the sportsbook, where anyone can then bet on them.

Edit My Acca

Another of their top Ladbrokes features is Edit My Acca. Edit My Acca, allows you to remove selections from your accumulator AFTER you have placed your bet – and even AFTER your selected events have started!

Once you have played with and revised your bet, you will see the new potential return amount.

But having the ability to remove a selection which looks like it is heading on the right path to failure is a cool touch.

This is an extremely useful tool to have, just to stay in control of those bigger bets.

Ladbrokes 1-2-Free

This feature is only available on the Ladbrokes mobile. It is a prediction game when the prediction of the final scores in three nominated matches is called for.

It is free to take part in the game. One correct score will return a £1 Free Bet, two perfect picks nets a £5 Free Bet, with a hat-trick secures you £100 in cash!

T&Cs This is a free to enter sports promotion available on the Ladbrokes Sports App and Mobile Web only. Simply predict the correct score of the selected matches (90 mins only) on the 1-2 Free game to win a prize. Predictions must be entered before kick-off of the first game played. Any entries after kick off will not be eligible. If for any reason a match listed as part of 1-2-Free is abandoned (void) the prizes of the games will be as follows: One void selection: £/€5 free bet (2 correct). Two void selections: £/€1 free bet (1 correct). Three void selections: No game has taken place and no Prizes are awarded. There will be a maximum of 1 entry per customer per game week. Your free bet must be used within 7 days of it being credited to your account, otherwise it will expire.

Ladbrokes Live Streaming

There is live streaming available through the Ladbrokes services, both on the website and on the Ladbrokes app.

Let’s start the Ladbrokes horse racing live streaming review with the racing. In order to watch a live horse race you have to do a Ladbrokes login.

Then for UK races (excluding Chelmsford and Irish meetings), you will just need to have a positive balance in your account or have placed a wager within the last 24 hours.

For any other live racing stream meeting, a real-money bet of at least £1 on the race you wish to view has to have been placed.

Other sports that Ladbrokes have available for live streams include Ladbrokes tennis, selected football, Australian Rules and basketball.

The quick and convenient way to access a live stream is to look at the in-play section. In there, there is a tab that allows a punter to filter through to see which fixtures have a live stream available.

Ladbrokes Virtual Betting

There are virtuals to be explored at Ladbrokes as well. This is another excellent section that they have running.

The graphics are great and will naturally run on better on stronger, quicker connections. One of the stand out features of the Ladbrokes Virtual betting is the variety.

There is Horse Racing, Horse Racing Jumps, Grand National, Greyhounds, Football Rush, Football and motorsports.

For this Ladbrokes review, we looked at a virtual football match and found a good bunch of markets there including Over/under, double chance correct score, number of goals exactly.

Virtual horse racing bet markets were Win/Each Way, Forest and Tricast.

The actions come thick and fast of course in virtual betting, with new football matches and horse races starting every three minutes.

It’s a quick, accessible betting option which can also be done on mobile.

Online-Betting Rating:

User-friendliness of website 9/10

User-friendliness of website & mobile app

Ladbrokes have been through some ups and downs, but they really look rejuvenated at the moment.

That’s what we found in our Ladbrokes reviews. The website design that they have is spot on.

It’s very nice, clean and functional and very fluid whether you are on their website, their app or just on their mobile version.

All the investments and changes that they have done seem to be paying off.

The layout of their sportsbook is tremendous and the clarity in odds presentation and the betting slip is highly regarded.

There will be some punters who may find the general layout of the Ladbrokes website a little bit crowded.

It is on the busier side of things without question, but it doesn’t hinder the operation of the website. That is the important thing.

The collapsible menus are a nice touch because it keeps that out of the way and the prices are easy to read.

There are buttons and links around which can help you filter big pages into manageable bite-size chunks. It is functional.

Ladbrokes app

Does Ladbrokes have an app? Yes, Ladbrokes have a mobile version of their website as well as Ladbrokes Sports Betting App.

There is a Ladbrokes app download available for both iOS and Android. There are direct links on their website to get to the apps, which is a quick and convenient way to go.

For our Ladbrokes app review, those we tested operated very quickly and offered easy access to the extensive sportsbook.

The #The GetAPrice feature has been given its own tab so that you can access that quickly.

You have a big in-play section as well on the website, with the plethora of options available there with the quick and easy operation and access.

You will find their promotions and specials on the mobile platforms as well so you are not going to be missing out on value.

You can also grab your live streams through the Ladbrokes app as well, again restrictions will apply. It is one of our most highly recommended mobile platforms just because of the sheer wealth of stuff on there.

The full extent of the Ladbrokes sportsbook is available on the Ladbrokes app, including their Acca features and odds boosts as well.

It is a very user-friendly app in our experience and playing into that, it means that it was really quick to scroll through menus to find bets.

It was a very good service, lightweight and full account management can be done.

Ladbrokes Customer Service & Support, Security & Reliability 8/10

Ladbrokes Customer Service

Regular Ladbrokes contact help channels are available. There is an immediate point of contact which is a big FAQ section.

There is a search tool within that to use as well. It is all very well organised, it has to be said as it is broken down into handy sections like Deposits & Withdrawals, Exchange, Technical Support and so on.

The quickest way to get support is to open a Ladbrokes live chat console right there on the website.

That is on the same FAQ page, a big green button to start a chat with. There is a button to fire off a direct Tweet to Ladbrokes as well.

An email can be initiated through a form. The Ladbrokes number to call is 0800 777 888

Our Ladbrokes review rating: 9 / 10

Ladbrokes review

Ladbrokes are one of the most famous names in British betting and they deliver a top-quality online betting experience.

It hasn’t been plain sailing for them along the way, but they really have their act together at the moment and deliver an overall service that the majority of punters will enjoy and stick around at.

There is a lot of trading value on there for punters to get their teeth into and you get a hugely trusted and recognisable brand.

You get a wealth of promotions and extra, a betting exchange if you want to explore that side of peer to peer betting and wonderful mobile platforms.

In summary of our review of Ladbrokes, they offer one of the strongest packages out there.
