Football – World – CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier Betting Tips

Returning to the World Cup qualifiers, I take a look at how the CONCACAF section is shaping up with my next pick featuring hosts Trinidad & Tobago taking on group leaders Mexico in the Port of Spain tonight.

Amidst upheaval in the background with managers coming and going through the proverbial revolving door (previous manager Tom Saintfiet lasted just a month), Trinidad & Tobago registered their first win in their World Cup qualifying campaign last week with a 1-0 home win over Panama. That was current manager Dennis Lawrence’s first win in charge of the caribbean outfit.

However, although the home side have home advantage again tonight, they’re likely to be facing a much sterner test when a star-studded (by comparison) Mexico come to town.

Onto Mexico then, and they sit top of the CONCACAF section with seven points to their name after the first three group matches. With three automatic qualifying spots up for grabs, Mexico are already well placed to progress to Russia 2018 having avoided defeat in their opening games of the campaign.

Wins over USA and second placed Costa Rica along with a draw away at Panama have set them up nicely, and they’ve made a good start away from home with a record of  1-1-0  2/1. The Mexicans are also unbeaten in their last nine World Cup qualifiers, and unbeaten in their last five on their travels.

Indeed, Mexico have won four of their last five on the road, and with the likes of Herrera in midfield and attacking trio of Hernandez, Vela and Peralta, I daresay they’ll have their eyes on taking all three points here this evening.
