Emeli and Adele set to dominate the Brits

Novelty Betting & Other Events Betting

Emeli Sande and Adele are overwhelming favourites to pick up the leading awards at the Brits in London this Wednesday.

BetVictor have Scottish songstress Sande at a best 2/11 to win the Best Album award with ‘Our Version Of Events’ and a best 1/7 to win the Best Female category ahead of the late Amy Winehouse (8/1 with Paddy Power). Emeli’s career has taken off over the last 36 months and she was one of the stars of the Olympics opening and closing ceremonies last year.

Adele is 1/4 on Betfair to win Best Single for her James Bond theme ‘Skyfall’ and could well have a double celebration this week. ‘Skyfall’ is up for the Best Original Song at the Oscars on Sunday and no bigger than 1/10 on Betfair to follow up its Grammy. Emeli Sande has also been nominated twice for Best Single at the Brits with ‘Next To Me’ and ‘Beneath Your Beautiful’, her collaboration with Labrinth, both quoted at 20/1. Regular Brit award winner Robbie Williams (Candy) and Jessie J (Domino) are 20/1 and 50/1 respectively for Best Single.

Grammy winner Frank Ocean is the favourite at 1/3 (Betfred) to land the International Male award at the Brits. The controversial hip-hop artiste from Long Beach likely to edge out ‘The Boss’ Bruce Springsteen (2/1). Lana Del Rey is already in London which suggests she’s been given a hint that the Best International Female award may be heading her way. She is 3/11 on Betfair to mop up that section ahead of 3/1 Taylor Swift and 6/1 Rihanna (both Betfred), while Mumford & Sons will surely be going home with the Best Group gong. They are 3/8 on Betfair and it’s a bit of insult that they are even in the same category as One Direction. Let’s hope musical taste and not the volume of screams is the deciding factor. The Best Male Solo Artist nominations are a bit underwhelming this year but Ben Howard is the bookies’ favourite to get the nod (2/7 with Paddy Power) ahead of Calvin Harris (10/3 with Betfred). Olly Murs is 16/1 with Betfred.
