St Johnstone v Rosenborg Recommended Bet:
The Scottish side will contest the first leg out in Norway before the second leg return back in Scotland on July 25th.  St Johnstone have limited experience in Europe having only been in the UEFA Cup twice before. The first time was back in the 1971/72 season where they made it to the third round, and they were last in competition back in the 1999/2000 season when they didn’t make it past the first round, winning just one of their four matches. So the big question is, whether or not their lack of European experience will hurt them at the end of the day. They are of course on their summer break and will have to find a bit of match sharpness to make their way through what should be a pretty challenge.

Putting St Johnstone at a bit of a disadvantage is the fact that Rosenborg have already come through the first qualification round of the Europa League, and the Norwegian side are playing competitively at the moment on the domestic front. Rosenborg are currently on top of the pile in the Norwegian Premier Division and have a pretty strong defensive set up by the looks of things. They are in great form, winning six of their last seven domestic league and cup matches, unbeaten in eight and they beat Crusaders 2-1 in Belfast in the first leg before running out massive 7-2 winners in the return. The fact that the Crusaders got on the scoresheet three times in the two legs should offer St Johnstone a fair bit of hope though. But the Norwegians are match fit and match sharp at the moment, and the Scottish Premier League side may have to work hard to take something back to the second leg with them.
