Match Day 5 in Group B brings us a much closer group as there currently appears to be a three-way challenge for the top two spots in the group with Benfica, Napoli and Besiktas all fighting it out to make the next phase of the competition.
Hosts Napoli appear to have the edge as we head into this round of matches as they hold home advantage here this evening when they take on bottom of the group Dynamo Kiev at their Stadio San Paolo having lost just once so far from their first four group matches.
That defeat was a 3-2 loss at home to Besiktas which would have served the Italians with a wake-up call and they duly obliged by taking a point off the Turkish club in the return fixture away from home as they held Besiktas to a 1-1 draw.
Visitors Dynamo Kiev sit bottom of Group B having managed to take just a single point from their first four matches of the group phase courtesy of a 1-1 draw at Besiktas, but defeats against Napoli along with home and away losses to Benfica have left them bottom of the pile as we head into Match Day 5.
Now Dynamo kiev face a tough trip to Italy as they attempt to contain the hosts Napoli and their job is made that much harder by the fact that they have won just twice away from home in the Champions League from their last nine on the road.
In addition, Dynamo Kiev have conceded in each of their four group matches so far, so I’ll back the home side to cover the -1 asian handicap line here which looks a relatively safe bet.
