Inter Milan Preview – Can Inter avoid a third loss on the trot?
Having recently suffered back to back defeats to Udinese 3-1 away from home along with a 2-1 loss at home to Roma, Tuesday night’s hosts, Inter Milan, have another opportunity on home soil to redeem themselves but their visitors are Barcelona who possess quality and pedigree at Champions League level.
Inter Milan made a losing start to this season’s Champions League group stage as they were dealt a 2-0 loss on home turf by the German champions, Bayern Munich, although the hosts did manage to bounce back with a win on Matchday 2 with a 2-0 victory on the road at Czech Republic outfit, Viktoria Plzen to keep them in touch in the group.
Recent results overall though have been a little shaky where Inter have been concerned as the hosts have lost five out of their last eight matches in all competitions with defeats incurred against Lazio and fierce rivals, AC Milan, both inflicted upon Inter just before their Champions League campaign.

Barcelona Preview – Can Barca find the edge again?
Barcelona also tasted defeat against Bayern Munich last time out in Group C against Bayern Munich as the Spanish club were handed a 2-0 defeat away from home in Germany on Matchday 2 but the visitors had earlier got their new Champions League campaign off to a winning start with a crushing 5-1 victory over Viktoria Plzen.
Indeed, that defeat away at Bayern Munich has been Barcelona’s only low point out of their last 17 matches in all competitions, an impressive run of results that include 12 wins and friendly draws with Manchester City and Juventus, so the visitors look in good shape to at least avoid defeat in Milan on Tuesday night.
However, Barcelona have been rather unconvincing on the Champions League stage in recent times as the Spanish visitors have managed to collect just three wins out of their last 11 ties overall at this level, picking up home and away wins against Dinamo Kiev and the Viktoria Plzen victory.
Barca have also lost three out of their last four outings on the road in this competition with losses incurred at Benfica and Bayern Munich twice, but the bigger picture still gives Barcelona encouragement as they’ve lost just these three games out of their last 12 outings on their travels.
With six wins under their belt within this 12-game period away from home, the visitors still have a decent chance of a result here, especially with their dominant head to head record against Inter Milan, which they’ll be hoping to extend here on Tuesday night.
Ronald Araujo, Hector Bellerin, Memphis Depay, Jules Kounde and Frenkie de Jong have all been ruled out with injuries but prolific goalscorer, Robert Lewandowski, will be looking to add to his goalscoring tally here.
