Whichever side gets through the Group A qualifying section for this year’s ICC World Twenty20 will probably wish they hadn’t bothered for they will go forward into Group 2 of the Super 10 stage, which features some real power-houses of limited-overs cricket.

Group 2 already includes hosts India, inaugural World T20 winners in 2007, Pakistan – successful in England two years later – Australia, the reigning 50-over World Cup champions, and New Zealand. Nobody will be envying Bangladesh, Ireland, the Netherlands or Oman should they qualify.

The two countries that reach the semi-finals from Group 2 will certainly be battle-hardened but it forecasting who those two teams will be isn’t straightforward and bookmakers are hanging fire on putting up odds until the last minute. You can, however, have a bet on countries to reach the final with India and Australia both featuring prominently in Betfred’s odds.

Betfred is offering new customers a £30 free bet if they bet £10!
You must stake £10 or more at cumulative odds of Evens (2.0) or greater on your first bet but Betfred.com will then credit your account with a free bet of £30 within 48 hours of your first bet being settled.
Only customers who use the promo code ‘30FREE’ are eligible for this sign up offer. Your bet must be settled within 30 days of account opening in order to qualify for the free bet. Terms and conditions apply, please see full detail directly at Betfred.

World T20 Betfred Odds To Reach The Final

India (6/5), Australia and South Africa (2/1), England (11/4), Pakistan, New Zealand and West Indies (4/1), Sri Lanka (6/1), Bangladesh (16/1)

You could argue that New Zealand might be the outsiders of the four seeded nations as they’ve lost Brendon McCullum. However, the stats don’t back up claims that the Kiwis are a weaker side without their fast-scoring former skipper. In nine T20 matches played with McCullum since 2014, the Black Caps have won seven. Kane Williamson is the world’s number one batsman and Martin Guptill’s average was better than McCullum’s.

Australia never lack confidence going into any tournament and Steve Smith is an inspirational figure in all forms of cricket. Aaron Finch, Usman Khuwaja and David Warner are all powerful hitters at the top of the order but the sub-continent’s slow pitches may just blunt the effectiveness of their pace attack.

India, as hosts, will be under massive pressure and will need Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to be at their very best to win the tournament. They may just fall short this time but their grudge match with Mohammad Hafiz’ Pakistan should be a spectacle.

ICC World Twenty20 Winners Best Odds

India (12/5), South Africa (11/2), Australia (6/1), England (7/1), New Zealand and West Indies (10/1), Pakistan (11/1), Sri Lanka (16/1), Bangladesh (50/1), Afghanistan and Zimbabwe (500/1), Ireland and the Netherlands (1000/1)

2016 ICC World Twenty20 Men’s Tournament

There will initially be 16 teams competing in the ICC World T20. In the first round, the lowest-ranked ICC Full Members, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, compete with six qualifiers (including Ireland and Scotland) for two spots in the group stages alongside the top eight Full Members in the Super 10 groups.

There have been five ICC World T2os so far have so far and no team has won more than once.

The inaugural event was staged in South Africa in 2007 and won by India. The 2009 tournament took place in England, and was won by the previous runners-up Pakistan. The third tournament was held in 2010 and staged in the West Indies. England beat Australia in the final, their only victory to date in a major international competitions. The West Indies beat hosts Sri Lanka in the final in 2012 but Sri Lanka went one better in Bangladesh in 2014 and became the first team to play in three finals in the process.

This year’s competition is again being staged in Asia with seven cities across India hosting matches. The final will be at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on April 3.

Assumptions have to be made regarding the make-up of the Super 10s but betway have taken any doubts out of the equation by offering odds against the four possible qualifiers from the preliminary rounds in betting for Groups 1 and 2.

World T20 Group 1 betway odds

England and South Africa (2/1), West Indies (3/1), Sri Lanka (7/2), Afghanistan and Zimbabwe (100/1), Hong Kong and Scotland (1000/1)

It’s something of a surprise to see England vying for favouritism in this section. They did won 3-0 against Pakistan in the Middle East at the end of last year but were given a lesson in finishing by South Africa in their last two matches and have to face the Proteas again.

Eoin Morgan’s squad will also have to face the potentially destructive power of Chris Gayle and the West Indies, who are ranked third in the world, and though Sri Lanka are a team in transition, they are still captained by Lasith Malinga who has been a thorn in England’s side too often to recall. Given England’s overall record, that 2/1 quote by betway is looking too low. Both Afghanistan and Zimbabwe have the scope to cause them problems and they can’t be any value. The Windies should be worth backing in this section if they can harness individual talent.

Gayle features prominently in betting to be Top batsman at the ICC World T20s (14/1 with Paddy Power) but India’s Rhit Sharma and Virat Kohli share current favouritism. England’s Alex Hales, who has been in terrific form with the white ball lately, is 25/1 but I’d be more interested in the 20/1 about South Africa’s Faf Du Plessis.

World T20 Top Batsman Paddy Power betting

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli (9/1), AB De Villiers, David Warner and Usman Khawaja (10/1), Quinton De Kock, Chris Gayle and Shane Watson (14/1), Shikhar Dhawan, Martin Guptil, Kane Williamson and Stve Smith (16/1), Joe Root and Hashim Amla (18/1), Faf Du Plessis (20/1), Tillekeratne Dilshan (22/1), Alex Hales, Ahmed Shazad and Colin Munro (25/1)

It has just been getting worse and worse for England’s cricketers. They pretty much just handed over the Ashes back to the Australians with another poor performance. Defeat in Adelaide saw England fall to 3-0 in the series and with no batting confidence in their ranks, a 5-0 whitewash is really on the cards.

You can’t see the Australians sitting back now that they have earned the urn. They will have their tails up and will want to continue to put England to the sword. The hosts have been head and shoulder above the tourists in every department so far in the Ashes Series.

An Australia 5-0 whitewash is running at 7/4 favourite with online betting site Paddy Power. It Really doesn’t look a big stretch now. If there is anything left in the England reserve then you could take an Australia 40- victory at 5/2, or Australia 4-1 in the Ashes Series Correct Score betting market with Paddy Power.

The 4th Test will starting late on Christmas Day in the UK as England try and pull themselves together and avoid total annihilation. After crushing victories by margins of 381 in Brisbane and 218 in Adelaide, England slumped to a 150 in Perth to hand over the Ashes. One positive is that at least the margin of defeat has been getting smaller and smaller. However, the Australians have just been too ruthless.

Can England grab something in Melbourne for the 4th Test? Naturally the bookies have Alastair Cook’s men at long odds, 7/2 to get a victory in the next Test, while the Australians are at 8/11 to take the draw.

Online betting site Paddy Power are running their Double Odds Special for the 4th and 5th Test. Back a winning Top Team Runscorer in any innings of the Third Test, and if the player scores a century, then Paddy Power will pay you out at DOUBLE your original odds.

Can England save any face in the third Test of the Ashes series? After getting blown out of the water in the first two Tests, largely being orchestrators of their own downfall with some woeful batting, the tourists are staring down the barrell of a potential whitewash in the series. They have yet to get any foothold in the series since the opening day of the first Test, a strong position which they simply threw away.

Now they will head to the unpredictable high bounce in Adelaide for the Third Test this week, hoping to redeem themselves. Coach AndY Flower has already said that there will be changes in the lineup as England look for a winning combination. While the Australians are running as strong 4/6 favourites to win the Third Test, you could look for bigger profit in the batsman markets.

Paddy Power are running a Double-Odds Special for the Third Test. Back a winning Top Team Run Scorer in any innings of the Third Test, and if the player scores a century, then the bookmaker will pay you out at DOUBLE your original odds.

Can England stage something of a comeback, led from the top by Alastair Cook? Or will it be the deadly bowling of Mitchell Johnson who blows the tourists away again in Adelaide, a ground where England have only won once before. Pride, at the very least, is up for grabs for England starting on Friday.

England’s cricketers, thanks largely to Stuart Broad with a five-fer, took the upper hand on the first day of the First Test of the Ashes series in Brisbane. Can the tourists press home their early advantage and go all the way and open up a 1-0 lead in the series? There is a lot of cricket still to be played of course at the Gabba, but with Paddy Power,  you can take the opportunity to try and get double odds!

Back a winning Top Team Runscorer in any innings of the First Test, and if the player scores a century, then Paddy Power will pay you out at DOUBLE your original odds.

This great cricket betting promotion does apply only to bets placed before the first ball of that particular inning and applies tot he top team runscorer markets only. The maximum stake is £50 per customer.

Will the Aussies have a big scorer in their second innings? Who will be England’s star with the bat? Will it be captain Alastair Cook or Kevin Pietersen putting on a show in his 100th test match for England? It’s the Ashes and anything can happen.

New customers registering an account with online betting site Paddy Power can get up to a free £50 bet as welcome bonus, the bookmaker matching the value of your first stake with a free bet bonus!

Paddy Power

Online betting site Paddy Power have a couple of great Ashes Cricket betting promotions running for the 3rd Test. England take a commanding 2-0 lead into the action at Old Trafford, which starts on August 1st. A third victory in a row, or even a draw would secure the Ashes in England’s grip, but the home fans will be encouraging Alastair Cook’s men to try and take another step towards delivering a series whitewash to the visiting Australians.

Paddy Power have two Ashes Third Test promotions, starting with a Double Odds Special. When you back a winning Top Team Runscorer in any innings of the Third Test, and that player scores and goes on to score a century, then the bookmaker will pay you out at Double your original odds. This applies to bets placed before the 1st ball of the innings is bowled and the maximum stake is £50 per customer.

The second Cricket promotion that Paddy Power have running for the Third Test is an LBW Special. If your player gets out LBW then the bookie will refund losing betting in-running bets on their Runs market for that particular innings. This applies again to single bets placed on the Player runs market after the first ball has been sent down the track. The refund on this one applies to Player Runs bets only, such as A Cook over 28.5 runs. The maximum refund is £100 per customer/bet.

New customers who sign up for a new account with online betting site Paddy Power can get up to a free £50 bet. This welcome bonus will matched to the value of your initial stake on a new account at Paddy Power.

Ladbrokes

England have kept faith with the same squad that won the opening Ashes Test against Australia, as the two old rivals head to Lords to contest the second Test this week. Can England take a commanding series lead, or will the Australians be able to mount a comeback? After so much dramatic and thrilling action from Trent Bridge in the first match, it is hard to predict just what can follow all of that. Will it be a more professional and concentrated effort from both sides?

Online bookmaker Ladbrokes have a good cricket betting promotion running for the England v Australia Second Test. If Kevin Pietersen top scores in England’s 1st innings in the 2nd Test Match, between England and Australia, starting 18/07/2013, then online betting site Ladbrokes will refund losing stakes on the Match Betting up to £50, in the form of a free bet token.

This applies to bets placed before the start of play on the 18th and it does offer some good coverage for your cricket betting. After scoring just 14 runs in less than half an hour at the crease in his first innings of the opening Test, Pietersen settled in for a solid half century, scoring 64 in nearly four hours.

England Top Runscorer 2nd Test 1st Innings odds at Ladbrokes
Cook 7/2, Pietersen 7/2, Trott 7/2, Root 9/2, Bell 11/2, Bairstow 10/1, Prior 1/1

In the first Test Jonathan Trott top scored for England in their first innings with just 48, while Ian Bell’s vital 109 was top in the second. Bell will be pretty good value in this one, as he has notched up three half centuries in his last five innings at Lords. In England’s last match but one at Lords, Jonny Bairstow fired off 95 and 54 against South Africa and back in May on the ground, he top scored in the first innings against New Zealand.

New customers registering an account with online bookmaker Ladbrokes can get up to a free £30 bet as a welcome bonus.

England will be rattling back into action with England v New Zealand T20 Cricket betting on June 25th. It a busy summer for the ICC Champions Trophy finalists, the Ashes series will be right around the corner and so all the practice that England can get will only help them out there. This is a two match series for England against the Black Caps, and naturally on home soil, England are firm favourites. Bear in mind though England were favourites to beat New Zealand in the One Day International series ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy and failed.

But the head to head record for England v New Zealand in the T20 former is heavily in favour of the hosts. England have won seven on the nine previous meetings including two of the three matches which they have already contested this year. Back in February the two nations contested T20 internationals and England won 2-1 on that occasion down in New Zealand. Given the advantages that England’s seamers can get on their home soil, many are fancying that this latest renewal between them will result in a whitewash.

In the England v New Zealand T20 Series Correct Score market, England are pretty decent value at 2/1 with online betting site Bet Victor to make a clean sweep 2-0. Trading as the favourite option in the market is a 1-1 draw at 4/5, but England really need to come out swinging ahead of the Ashes series and may play freely and loosely after some tense battles in the ICC Champions Trophy.

England are 2/1 favourites to win the Series outright, with New Zealand back at 4/1 with Bet Victor to get the job done. For the first of the two T20 matches, England again are edging things at a price of 4/5 to take the opening win. Having won seven of the last eight T20 encounters with New Zealand, there is a clear favouritism here.

England v New Zealand T20 Series Outright Winner Odds at online betting site Bet Victor
Draw 11/10, England 2/1, New Zealand 4/1

Take advantage of some dynamic live in-play cricket betting with online bookmaker Bet Victor for the T20 series. New customers registering an account with the betting site can get up to a free £25 bet as a welcome bonus too. The bookmaker will match the value of your first stake on a new account with a free bet.

Bet Victor

England made pretty short and swift work of New Zealand in the first Test and online bookmaker Bet Victor are offering some insurance should things take a similar path in the second. The second Test between England and New Zealand starts on May 24th and there is some great, unique match betting coverage to enjoy at Bet Victor, who won the award of Online Company of the Year at the BetView awards in May.

It was superb bowling by Stuart Broad and James Anderson to wrap up proceedings on the fourth day for England. Broad finished the innings with career best figures of 7-44 as he decimated the New Zealand batting line up. The Black Caps were all out in the second innings for just 68, the tenth lowest score in a Lords’ Test. The supreme bowling from Broad and Anderson, which had an added hostility that wasn’t there when England drew their recent Test series out in New Zealand.

But if the partnership of Broad and Anderson had not have shone so brightly and devastatingly on the fourth day, the match could have been closer. The tourists has skittled England out for 213 in the hosts’ second innings, the Black Caps setting themselves up for a decent run chance to win the match. Surprisingly England’s batting line up wasn’t as powerful as many had expected it to be against the tourists attack, with Tim Southee looking impressive.

If the second Test Match between England and New Zealand does not go to the 5th day of play, then online bookmaker Bet Victor will refund all losing pre-event Top First Inning Batsman and Top First Innings Bowler bets as a free bet up to £50!

So some tremendous cricket betting insurance, with Bet Victor’s Early Finish Insurance in the 2nd Test Match for England v New Zealand. New customers registering an account with online betting site Bet Victor can get up to a free £25 bet as a welcome bonus. The bookie will match the value of your first stake on a new account with a free bet.

England warm up for their Ashes quest later in the year with a Test series against New Zealand. Captain Alastair Cook will have a lot on his shoulders in getting the best out of his troops. Some great cricket betting is lined up for the next few days and Alastair Cook will be the focus of a lot of it.

If Alastair Cook top scores in England’s 1st inning, then the bookmaker will refund losing match bets up to the maximum value of £25 with a free bet back to your account. England are 4/6 favourites to win the First Test, with the tourists trading at a very distant 9/1. The draw is in at 13/8 with Ladbrokes. In the Top Batsman Betting Odds, it is Cook who is trading as outright favourite at a price of 5/2 with the bookmaker.
