Today’s horse racing tips for Saturday take in all of the action from the final day of the 2022 Ebor Festival.
There are a couple of Group races included in the line-up, including the City Of York Stakes.
But Saturday’s headline act is the rich Ebor Handicap that features a big field of 22.
So here are the best of today’s horse racing tips for Saturday, 20th August 2022.

EVER PRESENT is one for the shortlist in Ebor Handicap tips for Saturday. He won three of four appearances on the flat last season.
He only recently returned from a break of 10 months, taking a fourth place finish in July at Down Royal.
Ever Present will have needed that run by the look of it. It should have unlocked further progress so he is a player.
LICENCE is an intriguing pick for the shortlist on Saturday as well. He landed a debut win at Gowran last summer.
It’s been three runs this season by him, all credible efforts.
He takes a drop here after going in a Group 3 last time out. The unexposed Licence wasn’t disgraced in that company.
He also goes for winning trainer Ger Lyons and has a race winner on his back too.
GAASSEE has form that just can’t be injured. He closed the previous campaign with a hattrick of successes.
He picked up where he left off on his reappearance, taking a handicap win here at York during the Dante meeting.
Gassee’s follow-up was in the Old Newton Cup where he was beaten by the re-opposing Get Shirty.
But he could have done much better had he been pushed on a little bit sooner, and he did finish strongly.
This is a big field and the favourite is EARL OF TYRONE who completed a hattrick last time out, which was a couple of months ago.
He’s been progressing well for a good yard. However, only one winning favourite has shown up in the last 10 renewals of the Ebor Handicap.
Adding to the depth of the contest is the qualifying of the likes of GET SHIRTY, OKITA SOUJI, CANDLFORD and EUCHEN GLEN.

SANDRINE is the first name on the list for the City Of York Stakes. That’s thanks to her winning performance in the Lennox Stakes last time out.
She got the better of Kinross by a neck and had a couple of others in this renewal behind her as well.
Back at the start of her career, Sandrine rattled off a hattrick out of the gate. The Albany and the Duchess of Cambridge were taken in that span.
Sandrine receives weight from everyone else in this York field and has massive claims.
KINROSS warrants plenty of respect having been narrowly touched off by Sandrine recently at Goodwood.
He has been as good as ever this season, albeit in defeat. He was the 2021 City Of York Stakes winner.
There’s a proven 7f winning form that Kinross has in Group company and he’s clearly in good nick at the moment.
The final shortlisted selection for the City Of York Stakes is JUMBY who brings winning form to the table.
He scored the Hungerford Stakes just last weekend with an eye-catching performance.
This is a quick turnaround, but if that’s not an issue, a repeat level of performance should see him in the frame.
SACRED is the current market favourite in a super-competitive renewal of this Group 2 fixture.
She was fourth in the Lennox Stakes last time out. Sacred is likely to be a big player and last term was thriving at this distance.

MIGHTY ULYSSES could be the one to beat in this Group 3 contest at York on Sunday.
He delivered a score at Newmarket just last month in a Listed grade race.
That was the second win this season and he got the better of Alflaila in that one, who is also in this race.
BASHRIKOVA needs a bounceback after not running to her best at Ascot on her latest.
But connections have given her a rest since then. So she could return with some threat.
Earlier this season she scored the Princess Elizabeth Stakes which says a lot about her ability.
ALFLAILA has had a good campaign with two wins in four and he has some excellent speed in him.
After a close runners-up spot to Mighty Ulysses at Newmarket, Alflaila returned to winning ways with a score at Pontefract on his latest.

WILD CRUSADE should be a big challenger to the table in this competitive renewal.
He comes up on the trip after making it three wins in four appearances last time out. The son of Dubawi scored at Ascot in July. Wild Crusade has also won here at York this season.
SOULCOMBE is obvious shorts material for this valuable handicap contest.
He was fourth at Goodwood on his latest, doing a lot of good work from what looked like a thankless position.
There should be more to come from him as he tackles a longer trip on Saturday and he goes from the bottom weight.
SOUL STOPPER can’t be ignored either as he is seeking a hattrick in current form.
He got off the mark at Salisbury before following up with an eye-catching win at Chester. This is tougher, but he’s not likely to be too far away.

COMANCHE FALLS was back in winning form last time out, scoring the big Stewards Cup at Goodwood.
That was a brilliant, gritty effort beating Tabdeed (who is also in this race) by a short head.
Commanche Falls has to defy a career-high mark on Saturday but could be in the mood.
SUMMERMGHAND is on a big reduced mark here but he isn’t without a shout.
He was fourth at Ripon a week ago in the Great St Wilfrid. A credible run was from the far-side group.
Summerghand is on a long winless streak, but he poses a threat if in the same kind of mood.
ALEEZDANCER took a score in a 6f handicap three weeks ago at Ripon.
That was a hugely positive effort as he looked like he needed that drop in trip. He could be very competitive.
MR WAGYU has won two of his last four efforts and is a good sprinter. There is a big claimer taking off 5lb, who has already proven 6f winning form this season.
Mr Wagyu is also a former course and distance winner.

ROCKET RODNEY has done little wrong so far in his career, not being outside of the top two in five appearances
Two of those yielded a win. Those victories were in Windsor Castle and then in a Listed grade effort at Sandown.
Rocket Rodney then took a good runners-up spot in the Molecomb and looks like being the one to beat in this.
BOLT ACTION picked up a win on his debut, which was as a novice at Leicester Back in May.
He has since been sent into stronger contests and brings form from a good place at Goodwood three weeks ago in a nursery.
TREASURE TROVE could have a shout with some experience counting for her bit.
She took a comfortable 5f win in June. Last weekend she was only just touched off in a competitive Listed race at the Curragh.
ROUSING ENCORE is one more for the shortlist in this one and earlier this season ended back-to-back wins at Coventry and Naas.
He takes a drop to the minimum distance on Saturday and that gives him some exciting claims.

PHANTOM FLIGHT looks as if he has still more to bring to the table. He is moved into a handicap debut last time out.
He was third in the hat contest at Newmarket but had little trouble with the extra trip involved.
That effort came after back-to-back wins and he should be a player.
SPECIAL ENVOY has to pique some interest here with two wins in his four runs so far. He is from a top yard.
The latter win happened in a handicap at Windsor four weeks ago, and it was a comfortable score as well. Special Envoy could pose a threat.
SPIRIT DANCER is another one that demands some respect in this one after landing a recent course and distance win.
That built on a positive John Smith’s Cup effort and overall Spirit Dancer has looked a much better performer this season.
