Earl Of Tyrone 5/1FAV in Ebor Handicap Racing Odds

Without question EARL OF TYRONE arrives in some cracking form on his visit to York on Saturday.

He completed a hattrick when scoring at Limerick in a Listed grade race a couple of months ago.

It looks as if he has been targeted for this one.

Irish yards have had a good time of things in recent renewals of the Ebor Handicap.

The trends are not in Earl Of Tyrone’s favour, however. Just once in the last ten renewals of the Ebor Handicap has there been a winning favourite.

That’s the position for Earl Of Tyrone at 5/1 currently* (odds recorded at 18:35 GMT on 19th August 2022 at Coral).

GAASSEE
8/1

Gas continues upward form

There has been a cracking run of form produced by GAASSEE stretching back to last season.

He was massively progressive the last term, closing out with the completion of a hattrick.

On his reappearance run, he expanded his winning streak to four.

Gaassee did that with a score in a handicap here at York during the Dante meeting.

A decent third-place finish at Haydock on his latest, saw his winning streak end. But he was hampered a little there.

Gaassee should be a big player for Willie Haggas at 8/1* (odds recorded at 18:35 GMT on 19th August 2022 at Coral).

Licence has plenty of claims

There is interest in the unexposed LICENCE as well in the Ebor Handicap tips for Saturday at York.

He is from winning trainer Ger Lyons. He is the only trainer with an entry this year who has actually won the race within its last 20 renewals.

Licence also carries a winning jockey on Saturday.

While there hasn’t been a win since his debut last season, Licence has been showing further signs of promise.

He was fourth of eight in a Group 3 at Leopardstown a couple of weeks ago.

Claims are there from 11/1* (odds recorded at 18:35 GMT on 19th August 2022 at Coral).

Ever Present should strip fitter

There was a reappearance run for EVER PRESENT at Down Royal last month. That was the first spin after a long break.

It was also up at Listed grade and the bay got home in fourth place.

There is a chance that he needed that appearance under his belt and he will probably strip fitter on Saturday.

Ever Present won three of four runs on the flat last season. He looked highly progressive.

Jessica Harrington’s charge has to be worth a look from 14/1 in Ebor Handicap odds* (odds recorded at 18:35 GMT on 19th August 2022 at Coral).

Euchen Glen could thrive in the big field

EUCHEN GLEN always seems to be in a better mood when he is thrown into big handicap fields.

So the 9-year-old could put a good effort in on Saturday.

Euchen Glen carded a third-place finish at Goodwood on his latest trip which was around this distance.

The veteran has also won here at York before.

He will have to dig deep against some younger opponents on the weekend, but Euchen Glen brings place claims from 12/1* (odds recorded at 18:35 GMT on 19th August 2022 at Coral).

Others to note

OKITA SOUSHI landed a win on his debut and has remained in consistent form since without adding to his tally. He was third to Get Shirty in the Copper Horse at Royal Ascot back in the summer. He’s 9lb better off against that rival on Saturday.

GET SHIRTY has been kicking on superbly this season. It’s been four wins in five runs this season, including that Copper Horse success at Royal Ascot. He is on a four-timer but has a huge mark to deal with and a wide draw.

FANCY MAN went well in a Goodwood Group 3 three weeks ago to claim a place finish. He had a few of these behind him as well on the day. He’s been going superbly well on the turf this season but could need even more.

ALFRED BOUCHER has been in great form recently, which culminated in a win here at York on Wednesday. He’s on a 4lb penalty after that winning effort just three days ago.

Predictions & Tips for Ebor Handicap Tips

We have a wonderful wide-open contest here and race-day favourites haven’t had the best of times in it over the last 20 renewals.

The first name on the shortlist for Ebor Handicap tips is GAASSEE at 8/1* (odds recorded at 18:35 GMT on 19th August 2022 at Coral).

He looks full of potential still and has rapidly been on the up this season.

He left his challenge too late in the Old Newton Cup last time out but is a player here.

The 11/1 shot LICENCE is very interesting for Ger Lyons who won this contest in 2019* (odds recorded at 18:35 GMT on 19th August 2022 at Coral).

He’s lightly raced but has shown plenty of progress. A good stiff effort at Group 3 last time out should have warmed Licence up nicely for this.

The final shortlist selection for Ebor Handicap tips is EVER PRESENT from 14/1* (odds recorded at 18:35 GMT on 19th August 2022 at Coral).

He is best treated on his form from last season, as we rapidly on the up on the flat. A reappearance run gives him a big shout.
