WTA Tennis Betting Week and Live Streams – Luxembourg and Moscow

In-form Ana Ivanovic and Sam Stosur lead Kremlin Cup field

14th October 2013 / Lee A Jackson
Ana Ivanovic (Ser)

The WTA this week has a good Premier Tournament over in Moscow, while a lower International tier event goes off in Luxembourg. So there is plenty of tennis betting options around this week to have yourself a good look at in the women’s game. The season is just on its final wind down now until the WTA Championships for the top eight players in the Race to Istanbul.

The tournament did lose it’s top ranked player in the world before the start. That was Angelique Kerber, who is naturally taking a bit of a rest after both winning in Austria last week and taking the eighth and final spot in the Race To Istanbul for the WTA Championships. So that has left Roberta Vinci heading up the field in Moscow, but the Italian isn’t running as favourite, in fact well down the pecking order at 12/1 with Bet365. There is a leading trio this week in the field and that is Sam Stosur, Ana Ivanovic and Simona Halep. All three are good options running at joint 9/2 favourites. Australia’s Sam Stosur won in Osaka last week to gather together some decent form, while it was Ivanovic who lost to Kerber in the final of Linz last week. So both of those are going along nicely and if you are looking for a better option of the two, it’ll probably be Ivanovic, with the Serbian just having better stamina and consistently to her game. Making up the trio of favourites, Simona Halep isn’t a name many will look for, but she is good value because Ivanovic and Stosur are together in the opposite half of the draw, along with Vinci too. So the top half of the draw, where Halep is, is far easier and along with Maria Kirilenko and Dominika Cibulkova, Halep offers decent value in making a run to the final. Again, tracking with live in play tennis betting will be the best way to go.
Ana Ivanovic 9/2, Sam Stosur 9/2, Simona Halep 9/2, Maria Kirlienko 7/1, Roberta Vinci 12/1

WTA Luxembourg Open
Denmark’s Caroline Wozniacki is the one heading up the favouritism in Luxembourg this week in a somewhat limited field. The Dane has had an understated season compared to her world-beating days. Still, hasn’t been in bad form, reaching the semi finals in Tokyo and the quarter finals in China recently. However, there has been much distraction about golfer Rory McIlroy having broken up with her, which may have a big affect on her focus this week. That will throw punters perhaps towards Sabine Lisicki and Sloane Stephens, trading at 4/1 and 6/1 respectively. However, the best outside shot of both of the women’s tournaments this week is Bojana Jovanovski out at 25/1. The young Serbian has been showing some great form over the last month and is well worth backing through early rounds in live tennis betting.
Caroline Wozniacki 11/4, Sabine Lisicki 11/2, Sloane Stephens 13/2, Lucie Safarova 8/1, Andrea Petkovic 10/1
