It has been a great season from Southampton striker Charlie Austin who is running at the joint-second top English goalscorer in the Premier League this season. The 27 year old has looked confident and sharp all season and is actually the top scoring Englishman across all competitions this season. The shot accuracy is pretty much even between them so there’s nothing there but Austin is averaging a league goal once ever 132 minutes, while Defoe is averaging one every in 166 minutes in the league.
Also in the market is Theo Walcott at 6/1 and West Ham’s Michail Antonio who are at 12/1. They both have six goals each to their name this season, which is a great return but those are wide players and over the course of the season’s aren’t going to get as many scoring chances as striker Austin is.
