Leicester v Liverpool Betting Preview – Premier League 27th February 8.00pm

There are no easy games for Leicester at the moment who are on a five match losing streak in the Premier League and who are seriously flirting with relegation this term. The management had enough and sacked Claudio Ranieri ahead of the weekend and now the Foxes are under even more pressure to pull themselves clear. Liverpool will be looking to take full advantage of the demise of the Foxes and they need to gain some momentum again after having won just one of their last six Premier League games. Will Leicester’s fortunes change without Ranieri in this one or will their plight become more extreme?

Leicester v Liverpool Betting Tips

There is a mess going on at Leicester and the moment and they will have caretaker manager Craig Shakespeare in charge of this one after they sacked Claudio Ranieri ahead of the weekend. On Saturday Crystal Palace took a vital three points for their own survival and that dropped Leicester into the regulation zone. So big trouble for the Foxes now and they are running on a five match losing streak at the moment and they have claimed only the one win in their last ten Premier League outings as well. The Foxes have failed to score in any of their last six league games and have netted just once in their last eight played. So they have some big issues and this isn’t the easiest of games to bounce back in. However, Leicester did win this corresponding fixture from last season, putting a 2-0 win on the board, but that looks out of their reach at the moment. Under 2.5 goals at Bet365, simply due to Leicester’s poor scoring form is a price of 23/20 and in the correct score market a Liverpool 1-0 is running at a price of 7/1 with only the 1-1 draw coming in shorter at 15/2.

In their 2-0 home win over Liverpool last season, Jamie Vardy netted both goals and he is a price of 12/5 in the anytime goalscorer market. Their last three goals in the Premier League against Liverpool have all been scored by Vardy so there is a trend there and he was on target in the Champions league in midweek too. Because Leicester don’t know what a clean sheet is, both teams to score at Bet365 is a price of 4/5 which is a good price for this one. Leicester have conceded at least two goals in four of their last five games now. Leicester’s have gone W5 D3 L4 at home this season in the top flight, but they have only gone W1 L3 in their last four there and have suffered back to back 3-0 home defeats heading into this one (against Manchester United and Chelsea). If they lose here they will be the first regaining top-flight champions to lose six games on the bounce since Everton in the 1928/29 season.

The Reds haven’t been going along in great form with only the one win in their last six Premier League games now, a stretch of W1 D3 L2 form, so they have gone off the boil. However, they responded to their slump with a 2-0 home win over Tottenham in their last top flight fixture. Can they build some momentum there? It’s a good weekend to collect a win with neither Arsenal nor Man City playing. Away from Anfield, Liverpool are winless in three in a D2 L1 record. Back in September Liverpool took a 4-1 home win over Leicester but they have not beaten the Foxes home and away in the same season since back in 2001/02. Sadio Mane is a good 6/4 shot in the anytime goalscorer market and he has top scored in the league for the Reds this term with 11 goals. Daniel Sturridge is a 21/20 shot. Liverpool have scored in five of their last six games on the road so there is a decent chance of seeing them break through the flaky Leicester back line. Liverpool have won more away games against reigning Premier League champions than any other side (8) has managed. Will they make it nine on Monday evening?

Leicester v Liverpool Betting Odds

Liverpool 4/6, Draw 16/5, Leicester 9/2

Leicester v Liverpool Predictions

The Foxes have failed to score in their last six league games now and unless there is a drastic change it is hard to see them winning this one. Liverpool have been off the boil, but the rest may have done them the power of good and they can come back fully charged and ready to build on that 2-0 success over Spurs last time out. Look for Liverpool to win and the way things are going, look for the Reds to win to nil if you want to push the boat out.
