Manchester City v Stoke Betting Preview – Premier League 8th March 8.00pm

The Citizens are looking for their fifth league win on the bounce after easing their way past the relegation-threatened Sunderland on Sunday. The Citizens are getting up a real head of steam at the moment and a win in this midweek game puts them into second place, two points clear of Spurs as this is their game in hand over the Lilywhites. Stoke bagged a win on the weekend, but they have a pretty poor record at the Etihad against the Citizens and won’t be relishing this midweek trip at all. It is a tough game for them and they go as heavy underdogs as expected, for the match up.

William Hill’s Super Sub offer is a great way to cover your anytime goalscorer wager on a match. This offer only applies to selected live matches and if the player you have backed in the anytime goalscorer market is substituted and has not scored, then the bet rolls over onto the player who has come on to replace him. If that replacement player scores in the match then you will get paid out at the original price on your initial selection! This is tremendous promotion from the bookmaker and when you open an account with them you can earn a £20 free bet as a welcome bonus from the bookmaker!

Manchester City v Stoke Betting Tips

The Citizens have been going along at a very nice click with a run of four straight wins having been put together after a 2-0 win at Sunderland on the weekend. Three of their last four wins have been with a clean sheet as well so they have stepped it up defensively. Man City will claim second place with a win in this one and then they just need Chelsea to have an almighty collapse to be in with a shot at the title. Given the recent clean sheets that they have been picking up, a Manchester City to win to nil at William Hill is a price of 21/20 and that should have some pretty big appeal. Adding some weight to that is the fact that Man City have taken clean sheets in five of their last six against Stoke. With six home wins in their last seven (D1) in all competitions, Pep Guardiola’s men are going well on home soil and will be expected to win this one. They have netted exactly two goals in each of their last five Premier League home games, so there’s another trend.

That leads us to a Manchester City 2-0 correct score at William Hill at a price of 13/2 which looks value too. The Citizens have gone W3 L1 in their last four Premier League games against Stoke and they have scored exactly four goals in each of the three wins in that sequence as well. Sergio Aguero has eight goals in seven previous Premier League appearances against Stoke and he is a price of 12/5 in the first goalscorer market. The Citizens have put up a W7 D4 L1 record on home soil this season in the top flight with the only defeat coming against leaders Chelsea. Leroy Sane in on a three match scoring streak and could well be worth a flutter in the anytime goalscorer market at a price of 21/10. He actually has six goals from just eight shots on target in all competitions this season. If City follow up their 4-1 win over Stoke from back near the start of the season, it would their first league double over the Potters since the 1998/99 season down in the third tier.

Stoke have gone W4 D2 L2 in their last eight Premier League games home and away so they haven’t been all that bad really. However, the bulk of their form has been carried on home soil and they have been struggling on the road. The Potters have gone W1 L5 in their last six away games in the Premier League and they haven’t netted in their last two on the road. Overall, Stoke have gone just W3 D3 L7 on the road this season and there is a price of 10/11 on both teams to score at William Hill if Stoke can muster something up. But that doesn’t even look that likely as they have one goal only in their eight previous Premier League visits to the Etihad. Saido Berahino, Marko Arnautovic and Wilfried Bony are all 4/1 anytime goalscorer options. Seeing them score is hard enough, let alone them springing a surprise win on the Citizens.

Manchester City v Stoke Predictions

A Manchester City 2-0 correct score has some big appeal in this one. They have tightened up defensively lately and they have won six of their last seven league games on home soil and Stoke can’t match up to that kind of power at all. This should be another big three points in the bag for the Citizens the way that they are going at the moment. Stoke will be competitive at best and keep the score relatively low.
