Reading v Leeds Betting Tips

This should be a tense game to look forward to with both of these looking to secure a play-off spot in the Championship. Reading haven’t really been firing on all cylinders for a while now as they have only gone W2 D1 L3 in their last six league games. But they are a pretty strong home side and have been all season, having lost just twice on home soil in the second tier this season. They have gone W4 D1 in their last five on home soil so are going to be tough to knock down. Reading have shipped just the 14 goals in their 19 home games in the Championship. Under 2.5 goals at Bet365 is a 4/6 quote. Reading suffered a defeat out at Leeds in the season’s earlier meeting and they are winless in their last five against the Whites in the Championship (D2 L3). In the Bet365 correct score market, a 1-1 is going to have huge appeal at a price of 5/1 as Leeds have drawn two of their last three away games by that scoreline. In the anytime goalscorer market, Yann Kermorgant is a 9/4 option for the Royals, but Reading have failed to score in five of their last eight league games.

Leeds are on a good stretch of unbeaten form having gone (D4 D3) in their last seven, but there has only been the two away victories in their last seven away from Elland Road. They have taken a clean sheet in three of their last five five games home and away, so are a tough defensive side. They haven’t conceded more than two goals in a game in any of their last seven played. It is just pointing to this being a game where defences are on top and Leeds wouldn’t be unhappy with a point in this one as it would keep them above the Royals. Four of the last five meetings have gone under the 2.5 goal line and Leeds have won just one of their last seven visits to Reading (W1 D4 L2). Chris Wood is 6/5 anytime goalscorer outright favourite for this one. While they have secured good home wins over Sheffield Wednesday and Brighton recently, that same winning touch hasn’t been there on the road.

Reading v Leeds Betting Odds

Reading 8/5, Draw 21/10, Leeds 9/5

Reading v Leeds Predictions

Draw: Of the two, Leeds are the ones carrying the better current form, but they may find Reading too tough to knock off in this one. Most of Reading’s woes have happened on the road and they should be able to stand up and deliver a point in this one against one of the league’s form teams. A share of the spoils isn’t a bad thing for either.
