Watford vs. Burnley: EFL Betting Tip

The weekend gets up and running on Friday with a Championship cracker from Vicarage Road, as Rob Edwards’ Watford and Vincent Kompany’s Burnley go head-to-head. Both teams have started the season with four points from a possible six.

Watford kicked off their campaign with a hard-fought 1-0 home success over Sheffield United. They then drew 1-1 with West Brom at The Hawthorns last time out. Ismaila Sarr scored from his own half, but the Baggies levelled on the stroke of half time.

Life back in the Championship for Burnley started with a narrow win at Huddersfield Town, with Ian Maatsen scoring the only goal of the game. The Clarets followed that up with a 1-1 home draw with Luton Town last week.

The pair have mirrored each other’s results so far, and we fancy the two evenly matched teams to play out a draw in Hertfordshire this Friday night. The 1-1 stalemate is nicely priced at 21/4.

Cardiff City vs. Birmingham City: Best Football League Betting Predictions

Saturday’s action starts in South Wales, as Cardiff entertain Birmingham at the Cardiff City Stadium. After losing to Reading and Portsmouth in the past week, the Bluebirds will be looking to get back to winning ways here.

Cardiff kicked off their 2022-23 season in style, beating title favourites Norwich at the Cardiff City Stadium. However, they have had a tough week, letting a lead slip to lose 2-1 at Reading in the league, and being thumped 3-0 by EFL League One side Portsmouth in the EFL Cup.

Birmingham have been tipped for a season of struggle under new boss John Eustace, but the Blues have made a good start. After holding Luton to a draw at Kenilworth Road in game one, Birmingham beat Huddersfield at St Andrew’s last weekend. In midweek, they battled back from two goals down against Norwich in the cup but went on to lose on penalties.

Birmingham have started well and could be tricky customers for Steve Morison’s men, but the home side should edge it. You can get 14/5 for Cardiff to win by one goal again.

Hull City vs. Norwich City: EFL Betting Odds & Predictions

Shota Arveladze’s Hull play Dean Smith’s Norwich at the MKM Stadium this weekend. The Canaries are still searching for their first league win after taking just one point from a possible six thus far. The away team are the bookies’ favourites in this one.

Hull have started their season well, beating Bristol City on the opening weekend before drawing 0-0 with Preston North End at Deepdale on matchday two. However, Arveladze’s troops were beaten by EFL League Two side Bradford City in the first round of the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

Norwich have made a slow start to life back in the Championship after suffering relegation from the Premier League last term. Smith’s boys were beaten at Cardiff in game one and failed to get the better of newly promoted Wigan Athletic at Carrow Road last weekend (1-1). They did manage to eventually see off Birmingham in the cup in midweek, though.

Hull will be looking to make home advantage count, but we can see Norwich following up their midweek cup win with their first three points of the season this Saturday. Have a punt on the away win and both teams to score, which is available at 10/3.

Blackburn Rovers vs. West Bromwich Albion: Best EFL Championship Betting Tips on Matchday 3

Blackburn are protecting the only 100% record in the Championship. This Sunday, Jon Dahl Tomasson’s troops entertain Steve Bruce’s West Brom at Ewood Park. The bookies are having a tough time splitting the pair, and this one really could go either way.

Tomasson has made a superb start at Blackburn. The Dane guided Rovers to a 1-0 home win over Queens Park Rangers on the first weekend. The Lancashire club then stunned Swansea City last week, leaving South Wales with an impressive 3-0 win.

West Brom have been involved in two close games so far. They kicked off their campaign with a 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough. The Baggies then drew 1-1 with Watford at The Hawthorns on Monday. Albion have had to come from behind in both matches.

Blackburn have taken maximum points and have yet to concede a goal this term, but we are backing West Brom to take all three points from this one. The away win is worth having a punt on at 8/5.
