The draw has been made for 2013 World Matchplay Darts betting and for once, Phil Taylor isn’t quite top of the pile in the outright winner market. Taylor will start his latest title challenge against Stuart Kellett in the first round and despite not going as favourite, Taylor has such a rich history here that he will be backed. Taylor has won the last five editions of the World Matchplay and his great affinity should push him far. He will want to produce a big response as well after a shock second round defeat in the European Championships against Ronny Huybrechts at the start of July.

Being the sponsors of the World Matchplay Darts event, online betting site Bet Victor have a great darts betting promotion running for this year’s edition. If Michael van Gerwen wins the Bet Victor World Matchplay 2013, then the bookie will refund all losing tournament outright winner bets as a free bet.

The Blackpool Winter Garden is the setting again for the tournament and it looks as if it should be an exciting tournament. Taylor would be pencilled in for a massive quarter final heavyweight clash against Raymond van Barneveld, who also had a disappointing second round exit at the European Championships, losing to Scotland’s Robert Thornton. There would be further problems down the road for either of them too, with Australia’s Simon Whitlock a potential semi final opponent. The Wizard showed some good form in getting to the final of the European Championships, where he lost out against Adrian Lewis.

Truth be told, the Wizard did have an easy kind of draw to get there, but he knocked off Taylor’s conqueror Huybrechts in the semi’s. Barneveld is starting off at 14/1, with Whitlock being offered at 16/1 in 2013 World Matchplay darts betting at Bet Victor. That is going off against the odds of 5/2 being offered on Phil “The Power” Taylor.

It is Mighty Mike, Michael van Gerwen who is going as favourite at odds of 5/2 with online betting site Bet Victor. Van Gerwen went as favourite for the recent European Championships and was looking strong up until the semi finals. He was involved in a heavyweight battle against Adrian Lewis in the semi’s, and was edged out by the Englishman 11-8. Lewis’s consistency can be a bit hit and miss, but you can’t argue with his heavy scoring at the European Championships, and it may just carry through and he is wroth riding while he is hot.
