LEOVEGAS REVIEW 2024 - SPORTS BETTING REVIEW

OUR OPINIONS ABOUT LEOVEGAS

  • Excellent mobile betting services
  • Good range of sports variety markets in their sportsbook
  • A rewards club where 2 free bets a week can be earned

Online-Betting Rating:

This is our Leovegas review. They started their operations in 2012 and they were predominantly leaning on casino operations.

They are a Swedish company and their drive was out of a desire to become one of the leading operators on the mobile platform.

They started with casino operations, which are hugely popular and something that they have won awards for.

But they also have a sportsbook which was launched in 2016, just before that summer’s European Championships.

LeoVegas have always, regardless of the product, been geared towards their mobile operations to the point that they are a mobile-first operator.

That means fast loading speeds technology geared towards providing the best mobile betting experiences in both sports and casino.

Betting markets and odds quality 8/10

betting markets

So the main focus of this LeoVegas review is going to be about the sportsbook and account management.

We will take a look at both the main website and the Leovegas mobile apps to see what features are available.

Landing on the home page of LeoVegas, what is displayed is their casino games.

Again, we have to stress that is what they started their operations out with and they have a very well-recognised and established Casino.

So from there, there is a link in the top right-hand side to get to the sports section of LeoVegas.

That is where we are looking and exploring within for this review.

On the main screen of the LeoVegas sportsbook, there are quick links to the live games happening, those which are upcoming and specials as well.

To browse the sports there is a button which raises a small pop up window with a list of sports within it.

You can select different competitions from that pop-up menu and from there, and then those are the markets which will be seen on the screen when you close the pop-up.

So there is a little lack of a sportsbook menu as such. Most sites do run a static left-hand menu for their navigation.

That’s missing at LeoVegas so it is something a little different to get used to.

The sportsbook at LeoVegas is quite varied, which is always a good thing.

There is naturally a big focus towards the major sports and markets, but that is common with all operators.

There is, however, also a decent amount of more niche sports betting markets available such as Beach Soccer, Handball, Surfing and superb coverage of Esports.

In this LeoVegas review, we will take an in-depth look at Esports.

But for review, we will close this introduction with a look at their My Favourites too.

When you have browsed sports there will be an option to bookmark them by clicking a favourite star.

This is a very useful little tool given the navigation at LeoVegas, because you could, for example, favourite La Liga, Premier League Darts, ATP Tennis and quickly see those sports without having to go through all the filtering every time.

LeoVegas Football Review

Next, we take a look at the football section of the LeoVegas sportsbooks. Navigation on the main website again is immediately called into question here.

If for example, you were looking for LeoVegas football matches that were happening a few days ahead, then the quickest way to find your markets would probably be through calling up the menu pop-up.

Naturally big matches from the Premier League are going to be appearing on the main sportsbook window, along with live action that is happening.

But if you just wanted to see a screen with all matches from across different leagues, that’s not so easy to bring about at LeoVegas betting.

There is a good amount of football competitions that they have markets for. That is ranging from the major European leagues and cups through to action from Asia, Africa and beyond.

So they can’t be faulted for the number of markets that they have available.

Bet variety was reasonably good as well. Landing on a page for a low-key match from Belarus, we found very good bet options from the correct scores, 3-way Handicaps, corners, cards, goalscorer, player cards and more.

At the top of that individual match screen, there was also a slider button for a Bet Builder. We will look at the feature in more depth later in this LeoSports betting review. But it allows a punter to create a same-game multi.

Also integrated well into the page of a football match are statistics. This is an area in which LeoVegas really excels. Not only is their form, and tables, but also some fascinating match insights based off of the stats.

All in all the football betting section at LeoVegas is excellent. While the navigation isn’t the greatest, there is good bet variety and statistics to boot.

LeoVegas Racing Review

LeoVegas sports do offer horse racing to their customers as well. This is, again, found through the pop-up sports list menu.

There was international horse racing coverage as well as domestic action from the UK and Irish racing when we looked.

There was form within the race cards to look at. Most of it was basic information like age, weight and current form. It was a simple and straightforward horse racing experience that we found at LeoVegas.

On some of the races, there was a separate column in which other bets like a Forecast could be built from. That was a quick time-saver of a tool to enjoy as it was all manageable from the one screen.

Some of the races at LeoVegas that we saw did pull in details from Racing Post, which was a big plus. On the main screen for the horse racing, you can switch between menu options of Next Off, Meetings and Ante-Post.

LeoVegas Esports Review

Next, we move on to one of the stronger sections at the LeoVegas sportsbook. That is ESports betting. There are good options around covering plenty of sports and the best variety as well.

There was a lot of Counter-Strike, Dota 2 and Starcraft action happening at the time we reviewed them.

That was action from all over the world as well, there was plenty of North American and European action as expected.

Depending on the time of week and day, we saw Asian markets popping up as well in some of the Esports genres.

So all in all, there was extensiveness there in terms of the markets that they are pulling in.

To find out about the LeoVegas sports betting variety we looked at a big GS: GO / ESL One: Road to Rio fixture (EU) and found a healthy chunk of markets in there. There were good map handicap options, and both match and map kill markets.

What we also found was a Map Betting Objectives section where more detailed bets were priced up, such as the Total Rounds Won by Bomb Explosion for the match.

It’s a very comprehensive ESports betting service that they have and there’s plenty of live in-play options as well.

Summary

We did like what we found in the LeoVegas sportsbook. We didn’t feel that it was coming up short at any point, or that we couldn’t find a sport or for that matter, a market that we wanted.

So it’s a pretty solid effort really that they have. Yes, there are navigation niggles because it doesn’t operate on a standard layout.

All of the big sports like football and racing are covered well and little touches like the Bet Builder helped bump things up.

So for this area of the LeoVegas sportsbook review we will be scoring them highly.

We found some strong odds in looking around the racing section in particular, and they were really trading well with some of the big established bookies in that department.

Next in this LeoVegas review we will be taking a look at the LeoVegas welcome bonus that can be collected on a new account sign up.

Odds Comparison/Betting Margins

The odds are competitive at LeoVegas and the betting margins and not extortionate to detract from any kind of value.

That builds on the strength of the sportsbook itself. Because they do focus a lot on live in-play betting and it gives the whole operation a very fluid and dynamic feel.

All in all there is a very well rounded, strong sportsbook at LeoVegas. It should check a lot of boxes for punters and their every day sports betting needs.

LeoVegas sign up bonus, free bets & current promotions - 9/10

bonus offers

The LeoVegas sign up bonus is a pretty generous one by current standards of betting welcome bonuses.

You can get your hands on a 100% Profit Boost up to £100 from it, so that naturally is a massive plus for new customers.

If your qualified bet using the 100% In-Play bonus wins, then LeoVegas will base the payout on the selected odds in the Betslip of the winning bet.

Profit boost winnings are calculated on the odds quoted in the Betslip. If the original odds are 2/1 (3.0) and you have a 100% Boost, you will receive odds of 4/1 (5.0).

You will want to ensure that you make a selection that is not likely to be voided because if that happens on the first bet, you miss out on the promotion. You also can’t qualify on a cashed in bet either.

Significant terms: T&Cs apply. New reg only. Claim by placing a min deposit £10 via “My Offers” page within 30 days. Skrill/Neteller deposits excl. 7 days to stake max £10 in-play. Max. extra winnings £100. 18+ BeGambleAware.org.

In-Play Betting 10/10

in play betting

The in-play betting at LeoVegas is an area in which they really excel. You have to stop and think about what LeoVegas are about.

They are geared towards mobile betting and what does mobile betting lends itself perfectly too?

Live in-play betting. So this is a big area of focus from the operator and you can tell the importance and development that they have put into this area.

There are so many live in-play betting opportunities that you can find at LeoVegas. When we viewed there was a wealth of live darts, snooker, volleyball, handball, soccer and more.

The variety of submarkets in LeoVegas in-play betting isn’t just limited to the major sports like football and tennis for example.

You can get the full access to those more niche sports betting markets, along with Esports without missing out on variety.

Again, because live in-play betting is such a big feature of LeoVegas, whether on a desktop or a mobile, you will have quick and easy access to it all.

One of the big keys to all of this is in-play betting through their apps. LeoVegas is an award winner in the app department, which in and of itself says a lot about them.

In-Play Football

The quickest way to access the latest in-play LeoVegas football markets is to right from the main sports home page. There is a really good variety of in-play football betting available at LeoVegas.

Complementing the list of market options that are available in a live game, there are statists, an updated feed of the live-action and a small graphical representation of what’s happening.

Matches can be tracked on the graphical overview, but not all of them. It is more commonly found on the bigger matches opposed to the more obscure offerings.

The bet slip is very nicely presented, there is plenty of space in it, and the text is nice and big so things are legible. It is in the bet slip where punters will be able to build combinations and system bets.

In-Play Esports

Another feature of the LeoVegas in-play betting that we found to be excellent was Esports. Just as there was in the pre-match markets for ESports there was just a wealth of options for live betting.

We took a look at a Counter Striker fixture to see what live betting options here were within it. We were pleasantly surprised at what we found there as well.

There were active markets for the round handicap and total rounds. Some prop bets popped up such as Odds/Even Total Rounds and other options included race options like the First to 5 Rounds.

Again, as we have seen at many different sections of the LeoVegas website, things are backed up very well with statistics. It’s a little more limited when stacked up to sports like football stats, but it’s there to enjoy.

So the live in-play Esports betting section is another strong point of the services at LeoVegas.

To bolster all of the in-play options that are available at LeoVegas betting, they have rewards clubs too for in-play bets which we mentioned earlier in this LeoVegas review.

Extras & Features 7/10

LeoVegas Cash Out

LeoVegas have the industry standard tool of cash out available on their website. This allows spunters to settle an open bet before the event comes to a close.

The amount on offer in a bet that can be cashed out, will change throughout the course of match.

What is offered will depend on the current odds of the bet taken and will be based on what is happening in the match and the amount of time left to play as well.

It’s a common tool that offers some form of control over wagers. Not every bet is available for a LeoVegas cash out. Check in the My Bet section to see which ones do have the feature available.

LeoVegas Bet-builder

There is a bet builder tool available at Leo Vegas and it is very accessible as well. In a lot of markets, say a Premier League football match, there will be a slider button at the top.

That is where punters have the ability to turn on and off the bet LeoVegas Bet Builder feature for that specific event. This type of tool is pretty much an industry standard now.

It allows a punter to pick up to 12 selections to create the same game multi. That could be for example Borussia Dortmund To Win, Over 5.5 Corners and Under 3.5 cards.

LeoVegas Statistics/Scores/Results

As we have continued to state throughout this LeoVegas betting review, they are very good when it comes to statistics. They are integrated very well throughout the sportsbook.

Just visiting a football match for example will bring up some great details. There are a lot of percentage based stats, such as how often a team’s game ends under 2.5 goals at home.

Payment options - deposit and withdrawal methods 8/10

payment options

There are plenty of varieties of payment method at LeoVegas.

To see the full gamut of options you can do a LeoVegas login and then go to the Deposit page to see the available payment options.

– Deposit options → Skrill, TrueLayer, SafeCharge, PayPal, ApplePay, PaySafe Card
– Withdraw options → Skrill, TrueLayer, SafeCharge, PayPal

There is a minimum of £10 on a LeoVegas deposit from any funding source. Once a LeoVegas account has been verified it can take up to 5 working days to hit your financial institution.

Credit cards can not be used to make a LeoVegas payment, that is because in early 2020 the UK Gambling Commission put a ban on gambling with credit cards.

As for a LeoVegas withdrawal, that will depend on where the money is being pulled out to. E-Wallets options are likely to be a lot quicker than withdrawing to a bank account for example. Expect between 3-5 working days on average.

On average, LeoVegas withdrawals are in a pending state for up to 24 hours before being completed. For a verified account it can take up to 5 working days for your funds to reach you.

User-friendliness of website 10/10

LeoVegas has a very well-designed layout, both on their main website and on mobile devices is clear and easy to use.

The navigation of the sportsbook perhaps is not the greatest or most convenient to use, but that is because they are trying to push you towards the big live in-play betting events that are happening and are upcoming.

The wealth of the in-play options displayed on the home screen may likely mean you don’t have to browse around much.

But at the end of the day we have to bring up the focus of the navigation. It is different to most online operators. When you bring up the sports menu, only ten options can be selected.

It’s basically a filter that shows you the specific results. It’s not the easiest, or most convenient way of navigating the main website in our experience. It can get a little frustrating at times.

So there is that niggle there. However, the design of the site is very nice because there is a lot of space around, and things are easy to read against the white background.

LeoVegas Mobile app

However, things do come together navigation-wise on their app though, which is excellent. It’s quick, intuitive and extremely user friendly.

There is the option for either an Android or an iOS app which will give you access to both the sportsbook and their many Casino games and slots options to play.

To get one of the apps then you can find links under the Support link in the top menu. The iOS is directly available from the App Store. The Apple app also comes with Touch ID for security.

Within the LeoVegas mobile app, punters can switch between pre-match and in-play options across the wide range of sports available like football, tennis, golf and Esports.

The app is superbly fluid, simple to use and responsive. Having that speed of operation is crucial for a lot of players, especially when it comes to living beings.

At the EGR Marketing and Innovation Awards 2017 LeoEvegas won the ‘Best Native App’ award. As we stated at the start of this LeoVegas review they originated as a mobile-focused operator.

Promotions and bonuses are available right there on the sports section of the app. We did find it to be a fast mobile sports betting platform.

LeoVegas Customer Service & Support, Security & Reliability 8/10

There is a questions and answers section that we found for this LeoVegas bookmaker review, there so it’s easy to get some sort of solution to the most common questions that may arise while you are using the platform.

We tested out the search tool and it returned some favourable results. However, in our experience there wasn’t in-depth information doled out on some occasions. For example the overview of the Cash Out tool was very minimal.

You can also kick off a LeoVegas live chat with a representative or simply email them at [email protected] if you couldn’t find what it was that you were looking for in the help section.

They have a telephone number available on their site as well so you can contact one of their “support lions” +44 0808 1699 799. The LeoVegas number for support is open 24/7.

Leo Vegas Safer Gambling

Leo Vegas aren’t a site we use as much as other betting sites, but after taking a closer look, they have a good selection of safer gambling tools. Below, we’ve listed some of the options available:

  • Self-Assessment
  • Deposit Limits
  • Loss Limits
  • Session Limit
  • Wagering Limits
  • Player History
  • Reality Check
  • Time-Out

They have more available for safer gambling than other operators and provide content on this link. To find out more you can also visit leoplaysafe.com.

Our LeoVegas review rating: 8 / 10

There is a very good operation running at LeoVegas, especially if you like to do the bulk of your sports wagering through mobile devices.

You will likely get a richer experience there through their apps than you actually would on their main website.

The quality that they offer on the mobile platforms helps them to rank very highly with us.

The LeoVegas sportsbook and odds are good, with some excellent additional features like their rewards club and BetBuilder.
