Accrington Stanley will be looking to maintain their 100% winning record at home on Saturday when they entertain Carlisle United at their Wham Stadium as the hosts seek to remain in the top three of League Two.
It’s still early days of course, but John Coleman’s team have made a good start to the new season as they sit in third spot and have already won both of their opening two matches at home this term with wins over Colchester United and Mansfield Town.
In addition, Stanley secured their first away win of the season last Saturday with a 2-1 win at Morecambe, so confidence is likely to be high in the hosts’ dressing room. Goals have also been flowing with forwards Jackson (4 goals) and Kee (3 goals) getting amongst the early scoring charts.
Visitors Carlisle United drew 1-1 with pre-season promotion candidates Mansfield Town at Brunton Park last Saturday, and they now face a difficult looking task of keeping Accrington Stanley quiet on their home turf this Saturday afternoon.
Carlisle have returned a mixed bag of results so far in these early weeks of the new League Two campaign with wins over Cambridge United and Cheltenham Town, but these have been offset by defeats to Swindon Town and Lincoln City.
But goals have never been very far away where Carlisle are concerned, especially away from home, as The Cumbrians have been involved in matches resulting in over 2.5 goals scored in each of their last five away games.
