League Two provides quite a few decent betting opportunities this weekend, and my first pick features Accrington Stanley taking on Stevenage at the Wham Stadium as the hosts look to bounce back from last weekend’s defeat away at Crawley Town.
Before that defeat, Accrington had put together a promising four-match winning streak which includes wins over Grimsby Town, Chesterfield, Cheltenham Town and Port Vale and they now sit on the fringes of the play-off pack.
Three points this afternoon would certainly help their cause in jumping into the top seven, and with a decent looking home record of 8-2-3 26/14 under their belts, as well as having won three of their last four on home turf, they’ll fancy their chances here.
14th placed Stevenage also had an encouraging set of results in recent times come to an end during the week when they suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Swindon Town, as they’d registered wins over Cheltenham Town and Chesterfield as well as taking points off Morecambe and Carlisle United in draws.
However, Stevenage have managed just one away win from their last ten on the road, and that was a 1-0 win at the aforementioned Chesterfield who occupy a lowly third from bottom position in League Two.
An away record of 4-2-9 11/24 still needs further improvement if they’re to climb into the top half of the division, but having chalked up just one clean sheet from their last ten on their travels, they’ll find things tough going at Accrington today I daresay.
