Syndey are not used to losing when they reach the Grand Final but that was the case last season as they went down 3-1 to Melbourne City. They have reached the showpiece occasion in each of the last five years, successful in three of them. Coach Steve Corcica will be hoping to use that disappointment as motivation for his players but it has been an inconsistent start to the campaign.
Sydney are currently sixth having played the same number of matches as their opponents. That said, a win here would put them level on points with the current leaders so there is plenty of scope for climbing the table in the coming weeks.

Last weekend’s win at home to Central Coast Mariners was their first in four games, although it is not just one defeat in their last six in the league. On their travels the only success so far came against Macarthur. Sydney have taken five points from four games on the road this term – conceding seven and scoring six.
Not normally known for his goal scoring ability, midfielder Anthony Caceres has four to his name already. It means it is his best return in his career and more league goals than in his last five seasons combined.
