Fourth placed Bradford City could move up into second spot if they manage to take all three points against visitors Rotherham United at Valley Parade on Saturday afternoon in League One with the hosts in reasonable form.
Following a 1-0 defeat at home to Blackburn Rovers in mid-August, Bradford have out together a four match unbeaten run in League One which includes wins over Bristol Rovers and second placed Peterborough United, the latter being a 3-1 win away at London Road.
The Bantams have also earned points on the road at Walsall and Oxford United which will add to their confidence when they return to their home turf today with an early home record of 2-0-1 5/3 to their name to date.
Rotherham United made a bad start to life back in League One this season following relegation from the Championship at the end of last term as The Millermen lost three of their first four league matches, with just a 5-0 home win over Southend United to show for their troubles.
However, an unlikely 1-0 win away at Portsmouth has kick-started their season and they’ve also won their last two matches on the trot with victories gained over Bury and Walsall, albeit both at home, and both against bottom half opposition.
Rotherham are likely to face much stiffer competition this Saturday afternoon though in the shape of Bradford City, and today’s encounter will be a good test to see if Paul Warne’s side really have turned a corner here today.
Despite Rotherham holding the upper hand in recent clashes with Bradford, having won four of the last five meetings, I’m going with Bradford here today who are hard to beat at Valley Parade.
