Fourth placed Cadiz could join Girona in second place in the Spanish Segunda Division if they manage to take all three points against visiting Valladolid on Friday night when they play host at their Estadio Ramon de Carranza.
Cadiz are currently enjoying a solid run of form and results in recent matches as they’ve strung together a four-match winning streak in the Spanish second tier having recorded wins over Real Zaragoza, Cordoba, Seville B and Elche as the goals have also flowed.
A total of 13 goals have been scored with just 4 in reply for Cadiz and with a decent home record behind them with stats of 6-3-1 19/7 in addition to five clean sheets to date, the hosts look a good bet to extend their unbeaten run on home turf to seven matches.
Visitors Valladolid currently occupy 7th place and they too have shown signs of encouragement as they’ve won three of their last four matches in the Spanish Segunda Division with wins gained over Mallorca, Mirandes and Reus Deportiu.
However, it should be noted that two of these three recent wins were gained against teams situated in the bottom half of the division, and a difficult assignment lies in store for them at Cadiz on Friday night.
Valladolid’s task is made that much harder as they’ve lost three of their last four on the road with defeats suffered at Elche, Numancia and Getafe amidst an overall record of 2-2-6 10/14 with just two clean sheets on their travels so far this season.
