Carlisle United Preview – Can Carlisle turn in a another big performance to cause an upset and remain in the cup?
This season has been a struggle for Carlisle and they remain very much in a battle for survival in League Two. Chris Beech has been in charge for just three months and he has a big challenge ahead of him as he attempts to steer the club to safety. One win in nine games mean Carlisle are only three points above the bottom two and that will of course be their priority.
However, as shown in the first game against Cardiff, the FA Cup is also very important. And for a number of reasons. Whilst the coaching staff, players and supporters would have been frustrated with not progressing at the first time of asking, the club’s owners will be thankful they have at least one more game in the competition from a financial sense.

Harris decided to change his team significantly for the first game so it will be interesting to see how he approaches this one. It’s now just one win in seven games so as well as winning to stay in the FA Cup, just winning a game of football to gain some confidence may also be in his thinking.
