Football – England – FA Cup Final Betting Tips

It’s an all-Premier League affair in Saturday’s FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium with Chelsea making the short journey to Wembley Way to take on Manchester United as both teams head onto the hallowed turf looking for a last chance of grabbing some silverware this season.

Chelsea have had to make do with a fifth place finish in the Premier League and will be appearing in the Europa League next season, and the London club appear to be experiencing a similar situation as to that of Arsenal a season ago, which makes me wonder how long manager Antonio Conte will remain at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea seem to be going nowhere right now, and although they possess numerous attacking flair players such as Hazard, Willian, Morata, Moses and Giroud, they haven’t been able to really gel together. This was evident in Chelsea’s final two matches of the season where they could only muster a point at home against Huddersfield Town, and were then soundly beaten 3-0 away at Newcastle United on the final day of the season.

The FA Cup final could therefore prove to be Conte’s swan-song for The Blues, but his players should be able to raise their game accordingly for this one – surely! And conte will be keen to get one over Mourinho following their words in the media.

Onto Manchester United, and they too produced an unconvincing end to their Premier League season as they picked up just one win from their last three matches of the season; a 1-0 defeat at Brighton, a point in a 0-0 draw away at West Ham before beating a bottom half outfit in Watford on the final day of the season.

Jose Mourinho’s teams aren’t known for their swashbuckling attacking approach, rather, he prefers his sides to grind down the opposition and we could therefore be in for a rather dour and dull cup final, but he won’t care as long as his team wins.

First choice goalkeeper De Gea is in line to start between the sticks, but striker Lukaku, along with Fellaini and Martial are serious doubts to be fit in time for consideration. If Lukaku is ruled out, Mourinho may well start Sanchez up front on his own and pack the midfield with Lingard in a forward role to support the front man.

Either way, I think goals will be at a premium here with both managers desperate not to lose face in this final, rather than push for a win.
