Cincinnati – Can Cincinnati get back on track as they look to climb back into the playoff spots?
This is Cincinnati’s fourth season in the MLS and it is fair to say they have found life tough going in the formative stages of their time in the division. A 12th place finish in their first campaign was followed by consecutive 14th place finishes in the last two seasons. It meant they were heading into this season with some trepidation about what was to come considering they have finished bottom of their Conference in each of the last two seasons and finished above only two rivals in three years.
That was the challenge facing Pat Noonan who took over in February this year but the former Philadelphia Union head coach appears to be finding the right formula.
Orlando City Preview – Will Orlando continue their strong form away from home as they bid to go top of the Conference?
Just as their opponents are hoping to end a three game winless streak coming into this match, Orlando were in a similar position on Saturday when taking on Houston Dynamo. Two goals from Ercan Kara were enough to give them three points and courtesy of results elsewhere, City moved into fourth place and now have a chance to go top of the Eastern Conference if they can back that win up here.
Orlando have played a couple of games more than current leaders New York City but it would mark a significant achievement for Oscar Pareja and his players as they continue their progress.

As noted in the preview for that match, Orlando’s away form will give them confidence of getting another positive result in this game. They’ve lost only one of their eight away games in the MLS, winning three and drawing four. Considering how notoriously poor away form is in this league, it is encouraging form so far this season.
Austrian forward Kara took his tally to six for the season with that brace on Saturday. He is easily the biggest threat Orlando have going forward.
Cincinnati vs Orlando City Betting Advice
A win for Cincinnati here would push them into the playoff sports whilst Orlando can obviously go top, ahead of the remaining games in this round of fixtures. The teams clashed back in Orlando in March in a game that Cincinnati won 2-1. That is their only success against this opponent in seven games, so they will feel a victory at home is long overdue.
Key Facts – Cincinnati vs Orlando City Betting Tip
- Cincinnati have lost three of their last four home games
- Orlando can move top of the Eastern Conference with three points here
- Cincinnati have never beaten Orlando City in a home game (one loss, two draws)
This is a finely balanced game where there is unlikely to be much between the teams. Both teams to score looks a good bet in this one. Eight of Orlando’s last nine have went this way, as have Cincinnati’s last five.
