COVENTRY CITY v NOTTS COUNTY

Saturday 12th May 2018 – Kickoff: 1930hrs

Football – England – League Two Betting Tips

Coventry City did just enough to reach the play-offs in League Two as they finished in sixth place, courtesy of picking up three wins from their last five matches of the season which saw Mark Robins’ side home.

The Sky Blues recorded wins over Crawley Town, Stevenage and Cheltenham Town to help them across the line and they now play host to Notts County in the first leg of their play-off semi-final at the Ricoh Arena on Saturday evening but recent results at home have produced mixed returns.

Coventry ended with an overall home record of  13-4-6  36/24 which was pretty steady, but recent defeats to Yeovil Town and Lincoln City should ensure that Coventry are extra careful of not slipping up in this clash. Their obvious goal threat comes from leading goalscorer, McNulty who has bagged a total of 23 goals to date.

Notts County limped home across the finish line to eventually claim fifth place in the fourth tier but it was a far from convincing run-in to the end of the season for The Magpies as they recorded just three league wins from their last nine matches of the campaign.

An important 2-1 home win over tonight’s opponents, Coventry City, was followed by victories over Colchester United and Yeovil Town which just about saw them home, but manager, Kevin Nolan, will be cautious in approaching this match after he saw his side suffer defeats to relegated Chesterfield, title holders, Accrington Stanley, and strugglers, Grimsby Town.

In addition, the visitors collected just two wins from their last 11 matches on their travels which were wins at Forest Green Rovers and Colchester United, but having lost three of their last four on the road, they’ll do well to get a result here.
