Czech Republic Preview – Can Euro 2020 bound Czechs keep the pressure on leaders Scotland with a win here?

It’s been a very interrupted campaign for Czech Republic with both international breaks hampered by players not being available. It’s one of the main reasons why the team who were favourites for the section currently trail Scotland by four points with two games remaining. Defeat in Glasgow in their last group match could prove to be the pivotal result which is frustrating for Jaroslav Silhavy’s men due to the number of chances they missed.

The Czechs have won away to the other teams in this section – their opponents tomorrow and rivals Slovakia. They will end their campaign at home to Slovakia on Wednesday. Only two wins and Scotland dropping points will be good enough for top spot.

Although it will be the aim of this squad to get top spot, it’s not the main objective. With Euro 2020 to come next summer it’s all about planning ahead for that competition and ensuring that some of these younger players add to their international experience. One of those is Alex Kral who move to Russia for big money last season. He’s already got a couple of goals in his 10 caps to date.
Jahub Jankto is another younger member of the squad with a lot of expectation as he continues to impress in Serie A with Sampdoria.

Israel Preview – Are Israel capable of following up their good win last time out with another three points?

The expectation for Israel in this group was to be competitive in what looked a very challenging section. With two games left, they still have a chance of qualification – albeit a slim one. A very promising 3-2 win away to Slovakia in their last match has set them up. And although they require three points here and at home to Scotland on Wednesday, there will at least be some optimism following a very lean spell.

That was the first win in seven games but in that time they only missed out on qualifying for the final of the previous Nations League – and within one game of Euro 2020 – by penalties.

Austrian coach Willi Ruttensteiner has only been in charge of the team since July but it’s been a positive enough start and one he’ll be hope his team can build on over the next few days. Particularly as it will be the last international football played until March.

As ever, the strength of this team lies in attack with strikers Munas Dabour, Eran Zahavi and Shon Weissman all playing for top European clubs. The lack of creativity in midfield and getting service to them has been the critical issue.

Czech Republic vs Israel Betting Advice

The Czechs were too good for Israel last time out and this will be an even tougher assignment having to get three points on the road. Although the home team will consider themselves somewhat unfortunate the way their campaign has went in terms of personnel issues, they have impressed in spite of that and with two home games to complete the group – are still in with a chance.

Key Facts – Czech Republic vs Israel Betting Tip

  • With two losses to Scotland in this group, Czech Republic require to take six points from their last two games
  • Israel’s win away to Slovakia means they still have an outside chance of making the playoffs
  • The Czechs won 2-1 in Israel when the teams met last month

Both teams have plenty of attacking threat and as a draw is not good enough for either of the teams so the prospect of goals is pretty high. Czech Republic’s last seven home games and 12 of their last 13 have finished with over 2.5 goals and that’s the bet for tomorrow.
