EASTLEIGH v FOREST GREEN ROVERS

Football – England – National League Betting Tips

Eastleigh registered a much-needed 2-1 win away at Tranmere Rovers on the weekend which has kept them in the mid-table positions in the non-league top flight. Eastleigh have struggled however to replicate last season’s play-off finish in their first ever season in the National League this time around so far, with their inconsistent home form being the main root cause.

Eastleigh hold an indifferent home record of  3-1-3  9/12 and they’ve lost their last three home matches on the trot with defeats to Gateshead, a heavy 5-2 loss to Dover Athletic and Braintree Town, so the Silverlake Stadium isn’t the fortress it was last season by any means.

What is perhaps even more worrying for new manager Chris Todd, is that his defence have allowed 9 goals in these last three defeats.

Visitors Forest Green Rovers head into this afternoon’s encounter at the Silverlake Stadium on the back of two wins on the trot as they’ve bounced back in recent matches with wins over Aldershot Town 3-0 away and Saturday’s 3-0 home win over Guiseley.

Forest Green currently sit top of the National League with a five-point margin over Cheltenham Town and Dover Athletic while the league leaders also hold a pretty good away record of  5-1-2  12/8 having beaten the lower half teams in the division such as Altrincham, Boreham Wood, Kidderminster and Chester.

Forest Green have also scored 3 goals in their last two matches and four of their last five away matches have resulted in over 2.5 goals.

Both of tonight’s teams have been quite inconsistent of late, but have both been able to score and concede goals in equal measure – I’ll therefore go for goals in this one with the scoreline being a possible 2-1 win for the visitors.

Pick: Over 2.5 @ 1.91 William Hill
