Elfsborg would climb above Hacken into 6th place in the Swedish Allsvenskan if they manage to grab all three points against Ostersunds at their Borås Arena in Monday night’s clash.
The hosts are on a useful five-match unbeaten streak at the moment which includes wins against GIF Sundsvall and Helsingborg (both away from home) along with points picked up in draws against Jonkopings, Norrkoping and Gothenborg.
Elfsborg’s overall home record stands at 3-2-1 13/6 and they’re also uneaten in their last four on home turf having beaten Djurgarden and Gefle in recent weeks. Striker Prodell (7 goals) is the main threat up front and he’s been ably assisted by midfielders Rohden and Hedlund (4 goals apiece).
Visitors Ostersunds have managed just one Allsvenskan win from their last five matches overall which was a 1-0 win over Jonkopings at their Jämtkraft Arena – and it’s a very similar story away from home so far this season for tonight’s visitors.
Just one win on their travels all season has resulted in an average away record of 1-4-2 7/14 with their one success being recorded in a 2-1 win at second from bottom club Falkenberg back in April. They have since been unable to register another win as they’ve slumped to five away matches without success.
Recent heavy defeats at Djurgarden 3-0 and GIF Sundsvall 5-0 suggest they could have further problems at Elfsborg this evening along with the fact that they’ve failed to score on three occasions already from their seven matches on the road to date.
