Estonia – Can Estonia get off the mark on Saturday?

Estonia opened their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign with a disappointing 2-0 loss away at Saturday night’s opponents, Northern Ireland, but they return to their A. Le Coq Arena in Tallinn for this second match of their campaign where they’ll be looking to avenge their earlier defeat.

Recent results have seen Estonia lose just 1 of their last 5 matches overall, but three of these five matches were either Non-UEFA friendlies or a friendly as they recorded wins over Finland and Gibraltar along with an impressive 1-0 win away at Greece in the Nations League, but they’ll be up against an in-form and confident Northern Ireland outfit this Saturday.

It’s interesting to note that all five of their previous matches were away from home while home form has not been so convincing or impressive as the hosts have recorded just 1 win out of their last 6 matches in all competitions on home turf.

That win came in the shape of a 2-0 home win over Lithuania, but losses to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Morocco, Greece and Finland suggest this clash with Northern Ireland could test them to their limits despite holding home advantage.

N. Ireland Prediction – Can N Ireland remain top of Group C?

Northern Ireland have emerged as the possible dark horses of the Euro 2020 qualifying stages as they sit top of Group C which contains the more illustrious nations such as the Nations League finalists, Netherlands and former World Cup holders, Germany as the Irish have recorded impressive back-to-back wins to start their campaign off in explosive fashion.

Northern Ireland were supposed to be in competition with Belarus as the third placed ‘runners-up’ to either Netherlands or Germany who were expected to be fighting it out for the top two positions in this group, but Michael O’Neill’s side haven’t read the script as they sit top of the group with the maximum of 6 points to their name to date.

The visitors have recorded wins against Estonia and Belarus by 2-0 and 2-1 margins respectively which were both registered at their Windsor Park in Belfast, and this next match will test their mettle to see if they’re serious challengers for qualification.

With Netherlands currently involved in the finals of the Nations League and Germany having to travel to Belarus, this looks like an ideal opportunity for Northern Ireland to open up a lead at the top of the group.
