FC Sydney Preview – Can Sydney bounce back?

Sydney were dealt another blow in their quest for A-League supremacy last time out when they lost 2-0 away from home at Newcastle Jets which became their fourth defeat in the last six matches but they’ll return to home soil for this upcoming clash against local rivals, Macarthur.

In between the losses, Sydney have recorded welcome wins against Perth Glory and Western United which at least has helped them hold onto a top six spot in the Australian top flight and although results have been a mixed bag in recent times at home, Sydney have won the last two meetings on the trot against Macarthur.

Macarthur sit one league position and one point above their hosts in the A-League prior to Wednesday night’s clsh with FC Sydney but the visitors have also struggled for results of late, having lost four of their last five games overall.

Despite a 3-1 home win over Western Sydney Wanderers, Macarthur’s defeats to Melbourne Victory, Melbourne City, Central Coast Mariners and again to Melbourne City have overshadowed the modest success in recent times and they face another tough assignment on Wednesday night as well.
