Saturday evening brings us a couple of local derbies in the Brazilian Serie A, with the first one being a clash between league leaders, Flamengo, taking on Botafogo at the Estádio Luso-Brasileiro in Rio de Janeiro.
Flamengo currently sit top of the Brazilian top flight but by just a single point ahead of second placed Sao Paulo, who are also in action on Saturday night. Onto Botafogo, and the visitors sit in mid-table in Serie A in 10th place but this has been largely due to a solid home record so far in this campaign which has seen them reman unbeaten on home soil to date.
However, they too come into this encounter on the back of a loss which was a 2-0 defeat away at Corinthians, and this may be a significant point in this fixture as Botafogo have managed just one win from their last nine on their travels, amidst an overall away record this season of 1-2-4 8/12.
In addition, Botafogo have failed to keep a single clean sheet on the road this season, and this could come into play again on Saturday evening as they look to contain Flamengo who will still be smarting from their loss to title challengers, Sao Paulo.
