Genk Prediction – Can Genk continue dominance over visitors?
Genk’s inconsistent start to this new Belgian First Division A season continued when they registered a resounding 4-0 win away at early strugglers, Waasland-Beveren, last weekend which has lifted Friday night’s hosts up into a more respectable mid-table position.
It’s still early days of course, but Genk had previously suffered worrying back-to-back defeats to Mechelen 3-1 away from home and a very surprising 2-0 loss at home to Zulte-Waregem at their Luminus Arena which prompted a positive reaction from Felice Mazzu’s side last weekend.
Prior to that shock defeat at home to Zulte-Waregem, Genk had put together a promising 9-match unbeaten run on home turf in the Belgian top flight, which included a convincing 3-0 victory over Friday night’s opponents, Anderlecht, in their last meeting which was back in March.
Indeed, Genk have had the upper hand over Anderlecht in recent encounters at their Luminus Arena as the hosts have won the last 3 meetings on the trot at home, while forward, Samatta (4 goals) looks the most likely for the hosts.
