Genk Preview – Can Genk extend unbeaten run?
Genk were held to a 1-1 draw away from home at Standard Liege in last week’s season-opener in the Belgian top flight but nevertheless, Friday night’s hosts extended their unbeaten run of matches in the First Division A to seven matches overall.
Genk edged out Friday’s visitors, Oostende, into a top four finish which saw Genk progress through to the Championship Round where they narrowly missed out on automatic qualification for the group stages of the Champions League but instead earned a place in the qualifying rounds.
On the domestic front, Genk have suffered just one loss in their previous 13 matches overall in the Belgian top flight while also being unbeaten in their last six games at home, winning four of theze six.
Oostende Preview – Can Oostende respond?
Oostende were dealt a heavy 3-0 defeat at home in their opening game of this season’s First Division A campaign against Sporting Charleroi and the visitors now face a tough assignment in the shape of hosts, Genk, on Friday night.
