GUISELEY v GATESHEAD

Football – England – National League Betting Tips

Guiseley slumped to a second defeat in three matches on Saturday when they lost 4-2 away at Eastleigh, which has left them second from bottom in the National League and some nine points adrift of the safety of 20th place in the division.

Guiseley’s loss at Eastleigh was their second on the trot on their travels as they’d previously been on the end of a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park, but there’s a glimmer of hope for the hosts as they return to their Nethermoor Park for tonight’s clash with Gateshead as they’ve drawn three of their last five at home.

Indeed, The Lions have lost just twice in their last six on home soil amidst an overall record of  2-7-4  13/15, with only Eastleigh (8 draws) being involved in more stalemates at home than them so far this season. Forward Liburd (4 goals) looks the most likely for the home side.

Gateshead also come into this match on the back of a recent dip in form which has seen them go six league matches without a win, with defeats to Barrow and Sutton United (both at their Gateshead International Stadium).

However, The Heed have also been involved in a number of draws as well during this six-match sequence, four in fact, as their encounters with Solihull Moors, Torquay United and Hartlepool United (home and away) have all ended in stalemate.

Away from home, the picture looks a little brighter as they’re on a five match unbeaten streak, but this also includes draws in each of their last three on their travels within an overall record of  2-7-4  16/16, which is almost identical to that of Guiseley’s home record to date.

With both sides seemingly lacking cutting edge up front, I’ll back another draw here.
