Hacken's home form too much for Elfsborg

Football – Sweden – Allsvenskan

Monday 11th August 2014 – Kickoff: 1905hrs

Next stop is Sweden and a quick check-in to the Allsvenskan with a look at a top half clash between 3rd placed Hacken and 4th placed Elfsborg at the Rambersvallen ground.

The hosts are in a good run of form at the minute having gone unbeaten in their last four league matches with wins over Orebro 4-1 at home and home and away wins over Djurgarden (both matches resulting in 2-1 wins for Hacken), along with a draw away at mid-table Norrkoping.

Hacken’s home form has also been solid so far this season in the Allsvenskan with an overall record of  6-2-0  21/7, and along with Kalmar, they’re the only teams to remain unbeaten at home in the division to date. Incidentally, their home record against top half teams stands at  2-2-0  9/5 which also sets them up well for this clash.

Hacken’s most likely goalscorer is midfielder Makondele (6 goals).

Visitors Elfsborg go into tonight’s fixture on the back of back-to-back wins over Norrkoping 3-0 and Atvidaberg 1-0 however it should be noted that these wins both came at their Boras Arena ground while they recently suffered a 2-4 loss away at Norrkoping.

Onto their away form, and Elfsborg have struggled for consistency as their overall away record shows; 2-3-3  9/11 has been their return so far on their travels and they’ve won just once in their last five away (1-0 at 10th placed Gefle back in mid-May).

In addition, their record away from home at top half teams stands at  0-3-2  3/5 which shows that they’ve failed to make an impact on the better teams in the division on the road.

To wrap up, Hacken are in good shape right now and should have enough to at least a grab a point here which would mean we get our stake returned, but they may well edge this one perhaps 1-0 to take all three points.
