Woking worth a point at out of sorts Halifax

National League Tips

HALIFAX TOWN v WOKING

Football – England – National League Betting Tips

My last pick in this week’s National League sees bottom half outfit Halifax Town taking on Woking at The Shay on Saturday afternoon with the hosts looking to break out of a poor run of six matches without a win in the non-league top flight.

Recent defeats to Ebbsfleet United, Maidstone United and Tranmere Rovers (the latter two being back-to-back defeats coming into this match), along with draws against Wrexham, Boreham Wood and Torquay United have resulted in Halifax sitting in a disappointing 16th place on the league ladder.

In addition, Halifax are without a win from their last three on home turf which has dented their previously strong looking home record to now a more modest  4-2-3  11/11. The Shaymen have kept just two clean sheets at home so far this season.

Visitors Woking currently sit in 8th place in the National League having previously put together a strong six match unbeaten run during September and early October, but three defeats on the trot to Bromley, Dover Athletic and Guiseley have halted their progress up the league table.

Woking can take heart though from the fact that two of these recent three defeats were against teams situated in the top seven of the division, but they’ll need to improve upon their away record which stands at a disappointing  3-0-6  10/17 if they want to make a serious challenge for a play-off spot.

The Cards possess some key attacking players though in the shape of midfielders Charles-Cook (4 goals) and Philpot (3 goals) along with forwards Effiong (3 goals) and Ward (6 goals).

Woking’s recent form has been below standard but they have a good opportunity to make amends against a struggling Halifax side here.
